I am about to put a deposit on a 1200 Mulitstrata and would like any input available. I have never owned a Duc but understand motorcycles. |

Ducs are not as bad as some people here would lead you to believe. I've had two, a 996 and a monster and both were absolute dreams to own and ride. Congrats on the new strata! I'm envious. The newer ones require less upkeep and as long as you buy the service manual you can save yourself alot of time and money. Please post pics when you get it. Would love to see one up close. By the way which one did you get? I've been lusting after the white touring model with the S package. |

Have you called Monroe Motors SF? My old friend Nick Hayman is still one of the owners Tell him you know one of his RoadHolder brothers on BadWeB, check my profile for my name. Tell him I'm on the Buell. Nick is a great person. Check their website, http://www.munroemotors.com He has been in this "business" for 30+ years. A true enthusiast, and an avid road racer. ps. I don't know anything about Ducatis, but Nick will--befriend him. |

Yeah, I have to say if youre going to leave the Buell community thats a great bike. The biggest reason I went with Buell over Ducati 4 years ago was that I had a Buell dealer close to me and well the closest Ducati Dealer was over 100 miles away. |

I'll bet you;; love the Multi-Strada. I see some of them and LOTS of Hyper-Motards running about Manhattan. For a really good opinion on the Multi-Strada run down Reg Kittrelle. He rides one as well as anyone and has high praise for the bike. |

http://www.ducati.ms/forums/index.php I have a Monster, and I love it. If I hadn't gotten that awesome price an the 1125CR, I wouldn't be selling it. That Multi 1200 WAS going to be my next bike!!!!!! (Message edited by bmonty72 on November 21, 2009) |

I own a 2005 MultiStrada 100S (Olins). It is the best all-around motorcycle that I've ever owner (Total of 60+). The only negative of note is a wildly erratic gas gauge. I live in pure sportbike country and the Duc eats up the roads with ease. The long-travel Olins suspension is particularly adept on less-than-perfect roads. The power is adequate, but very usable. However.... prior to the announcement of the new 1200, I would say that the MS 1100S and the Ulysses XT are very comparable, but would give the edge to the Buell due to the motor. The 1200 MS, however, is a game-changer. I'm not going to spend $20K+ for the version I want, tho. My current quest is for a Ulysses XP... then I gotta figger how to lower it a couple of inches. Bottom line? I think you'll love the Duc. |

I own a Multi 1100 and agree that some Multi's have had fuel gauge problems. More so with the 1000's and there have been some fixes for 1100's with fuel gauge issues. I have been fortunate enough to have one that is on the money. As for the engine. Having owned a Uly before the Multi, I would give the engine edge to the Multi. Actually the whole bike edge. But that's just my opinion. My Uly seat was more comfortable for the long hauls. The $20K tag on the new 1200 is going to be a little too much for me I think. Maybe the base model will do. We'll see how the road tests go, but 1st model years with big changes scare me anyway. (Message edited by dentguy on November 21, 2009) |

Test rode the streetfighter version today. The motor is impressive, with one negative, throttle responsive has a minor lag that will take getting used to. I currently have 3 bikes for different use. I am putting my eggs in one basket on this and hope for the best. Side note, my KLR is ok offroad but at 20k the Duc will not be seeing much hard duty. PS. im on the list. |
