something like that would make too much sense. HD could continue to sell motors to BMC, a win for HD. Release parts and distribution to other retail outlets accepting royalties for any parts sold for pre 2009 Buells. That would all be money in the bank...and really, its not like HD tries to sell anything that is so technologically advanced that it needs to hide it...effin morons! |

That story is a month old. So far no action. |

I would say yes to all of the above. BUT there is a name involved this time. They were not there before. "Haven't gotten a response yet," Fred D. Burkhardt, executive vice president of the Walworth County Economic Development Alliance, said of the letter he sent to Buell on Friday. |

Someone on Badweb . . . . just not too long ago . . . mentioned something about a myriad of opportunities . . . who the heck was that?

"I would say yes to all of the above. BUT there is a name involved this time. They were not there before." We knew about him about a month ago as well. Nothing new. |

On the other hand . . . I think this one may signal a wave on the way toward the shore . . . http://thekneeslider.com/archives/2009/11/19/harle y-davidson-and-buell-unfinished-business/ I'd urge folks to comment, in support of Buell, if they are so inclined. |

This may sound stupid but can I file suit against Harley davidson for something anything regarding buells or would I have to be a stockholder to do something like that. I know it would be frivolous but it would cost them money to respond and it would cost me like $50 bucks to do it and if say 1000 people do it well I bet someone would take a look at it. Is this not worth the time ? |

Remember when Coca-Cola got rid of Coke and came out with New Coke and everybody hated it and wanted the old Coke back? So Coca-Cola started selling Classic Coke and it was a big hit! |

Except they didn't actually change the recipe back... the REAL original Coke had sugar. "Coke Classic" still contained the corn syrup used in New Coke. However, if we relate that to Buell, I think we could all manage to be happy if they took out the lump and snuck a new V twin in its place..... ~SM |

Based on the classic statement..... Classic Coke=RW750 New Coke=HD motor Could you imagine Buell without a portly, anemic, air-cooled motor that weighs roughly 180 pounds? Supplied without paper gaskets throughout? A liquid-cooled, fire breathing, twin cylinder human cannon stuffed into the most flickable and capable chassis built on US soil? Remember my friends, the Fags base their success on Tradition and legacy, not innovation or successful adaptation to the ever changing niche in the market. And you guys want Buell to break tradition? The Fags would die if they saw success without their 50 year old design in the face of a cut-throat field of Japanese megalodons. Oh yes, the fags would die. But then again, Buell saw success of this year's level only now that it is no longer held back by the TRADITIONAL means of propulsion. Innovation is more often than not met with the resistance of the feeble minded, irrational, and insecure. Screw corn syrup. Gimme sugar. And I apologize for speaking my mind. I'll try harder to bite my tongue and continue to be a subservient commodity to the same type of idiots who run HD. Malott out- (Message edited by malott442 on November 19, 2009) |

This old duffer wouldn't mind seeing Buell continue with a modern powerplant, but I love the old one in my CITYx. I have loved the feel of the HD motors since I built a chopped '61 Panhead in the early '70s. The problem for me has been the heavy slugs that HD put the motor in. Even the Sportsters couldn't get down a winding road properly. But then all the ricers I had couldn't give me the motor feel I wanted. Now I have the best of both worlds. |
