Add SLC, UT to the trip if you are driving up I-15 to I-80. We'll feed you and give you a place to sleep. From the South I-70 is quicker going to Denver. I'm hoping to make it to Homecoming so maybe I can meet up and travel East with you, not sure yet if my little girl will come along. |

If you come in on the East Coast, you'll be passing by my place along Northern Indiana heading to WI. I can throw a ball and it'll land on 80/90 which is the Toll Road (super slab from east/west coast. |

Something that you guys might dig is the rock and roll hall of fame in cleveland ohio, about 40 miles north of me. Let me know if you go, it would give me an excuse to go for the first time myself. |

+1 on the Southwest tip. You might want to try flying into Rockford(RFD) instead of Chicago, that is sometimes very less expensive. Did a round trip on SW to Vegas for $101 plus tax , sure it was the red eye but it was worth it. Plus Rockford is easier to get around than Chicago. Just my $.02. Both Chicago and Rockford are reasonable travel to HC. |

You folks are: a) AWESOME! b) Spread all over the place! Lol! Got some prices on Southwest flights, that certainly opens up options of flying LA to/from NY or Chicago. We threw around a lot of ideas last night . I guess I need to crunch some numbers... Thanks heaps for all your ideas and letting me know where you are. Work is flat chat for the next few days, so please accept my apologies if I don't get back to you for a couple of days cheers, chili |

I'll second Road Thing's Texas flag! If y'all make it down Austin way, I'll guarantee you a warm welcome from a bunch of HellBuellies. I've got two "extra" Buells for you to ride as well (or maybe "Kosmic" Carl will let you ride one of his five "extra" Buells!). We also have a spare bedroom and a manic 3-year-old son to keep you from getting bored. Let us know if you're headed this way. HellBuelly J |

Middle of the summer here you don't really want to tour on a bike,HOT, at least till you get to central Utah. Then it's Colorado and turn right...it's a big country! |

Very cool. We'll probably end up having to settle for what we 'can' do over what we 'want' to do with some things. Throwing around ideas of flying into LA, spending a few days around SanFran or Vegas (or both) then flying over to NY for a week or so in the area. From there, heading in to Homecoming (somehow), flying back over from Chicago and spending a few more days around the LA area before the trip home. We will only have about three weeks in total to do all this AND see everyone! I guess it makes it easier that a lot of people will be at Homecoming if we don't get the chance to meet them before or after. The original plan was to do it all on bikes, but it looks like the 'wind in our hair' option may be more trouble and cost than we first expected . The only thing we are sure of atm is that we really want to do this. Anyway, there's still heaps of time to plan and options to consider before we need to know exactly what we are doing. All the offers to stay and play blow me away. The hospitality of Badwebbers seems second to none. I hope you all know that we would return the kindness should you ever feel the desire to come to a smaller. more dusty part of the world! |

Don't know if it's feasible or not, but when my family did the cross-country tour thing (this was back in like, 85 or so) we camped three nights, hotelled one (mostly for the hot shower and laundry). We had a KOA book, found the closest campground and pitched a very small tent. If memory serves, campsites were as low as $10 a night out west. Very reasonable. Hopped off interstates for little mom and pop motels other nights. NO chains. Gotta use some judgement - there are some clunkers out there - but we met some real nice people and got rooms for around $20 a night. To be fair, this was 20-something years ago, but even when OdinBueller and I took a road trip about 10 years ago, we used the same theory and got some decent rooms for like $25/night. Not too shabby. Usually walking distance to a local bar. And please, if you land in Newark, stop by Liberty! We're like a 20 minute train ride from the airport!! ->ChelleM |

Vamps & Lemon, I've been visiting Badweb folk in Canada & the US since 04 & made some true friends. The generosity of spirit of folk on here is truly magnificent. You all know who you are, & I thank you again. |

Looks like we may just be able to make this a reality What we have to do now is formulate a hypothetical travel plan to see exactly what we can fit into such a limited time frame. We'll be in touch. Oh...did I mention that I absolutely HATE plane travel!!?? But for this...I'll make the exception |

If central Ohio can be worked into the plan... I know of a couple 'spare' Buells sitting in garages... I think something could easily be worked out. Maybe make Columbus a 'vehicle swap point' on your way to homecoming?! Keep it in mind! |
