Sorry Swordsman, that was my fault, the picture didn't turn out the way I wanted, so I deleted my post and re-posted. |

My $0.02 worth… As a Buell owner AND a HD owner.. The “fags” headline was funny as we understood the source of it. I find this offensive, and in light of trying to “maturely” approach the issues, write constructive letters, and project a positive image to HD that we want our voices heard and Buell sold, I just don’t get this. JMHO….. |

I own a HD and think it's funny as hell. From what I get from the conversations I've had with HD guys about Buell, especially some HD employees, there's a true understanding of why Buell owners/enthusiasts dislike the MOCO. |

>>>from the conversations I've had with HD guys about Buell, especially some HD employees, there's a true understanding of why Buell owners/enthusiasts dislike the MOCO. Some of the MoCo folks are looking at those 3rd quarter results . . . . seeing the money bleeding that continues after all the cuts to date and they are smart enough to know that Buell and MV Agusta COMBINED . . . make up about 1,000th of 1% . . . They are in the gunsights. I heard rumors, while in Milwaukee for 5 days last month, about 2,200 folks being in the next wave. I suspect that York, PA is history as well. We'll see how confident the ine folks are in the old "we'll go back to selling chromed bikes to tough guys" . . . aka "focus on our core business" routine plays out. I think the saying was when you are in a hole stop digging . . not "dig with a chrome shovel". |

Make sure that Chrome shovel proudly wears an approved Bar and Shield. Guess they'll dig their way to china. |

If I were a bright, young MBA, I'd tell H-D to stop making bikes altogether - they're just an inconvenience anyway. Just license the logo for use on baby clothes and coffee cups. No inventory, no capital expenditures, no labor costs ...

Maybe they will get taken over by another company in a hostile takeover. Can you imagine Harley being owned by some company like Microsoft or Google or maybe even someone like Mark Cuban??? I would laugh my butt off. Seriously though, Harley will never completely die. It may get smaller (and probably should under their current corporate philosphy) but it will never be gone completely. As much as we (badwebers) think that bikes should be ridden hard there are more people in this world that want to buy an image then create one. Think about it, here is my list of extremely overpriced products that continue to sell consistantly. Sporting event tickets - seriously have you priced a NFL, NBS, or MLB ticket lately? Besides, the view is much better on your HDTV. Sports clothing - Jerseys, hats, T-shirts Starbucks Coffee - $4.00 for a cup of hot flavored water? Harley Davidson Clothing and new motorcycles- $75 for a sweatshirt, REALLY? And as for the bikes, I can buy a "used" bike off craigslist for 1/2 the price of a new one with less then 5,000 miles. Cellphones - I love talking with single college students/dropouts that are so broke but carry around Blackberry's that cost $200 for the phone and $150 a month for usage fees. Is it really that important to check your facebook every 10 minutes of your life? People waste tons of money in this country every day. Harley is still a fad even if it is not as cool as it was 5 years ago. They will downsize, but never really go away. |

"Blackberry's that cost $200 for the phone and $150 a month for usage fees." My BB was $100 after the rebate, and $70/month for unlimited data and all the minutes I'll ever need. Buying the XT last month is why I'm gonna be broke for the next three years |

I get a 15% disc just because my ISP is partnered with ATT. Someone else I know worked at best buy in the past and gets a 25% disc at verizon for his BB. My BB curve is unl data and 900 min for 85 a month with 15% disc. I got the phone 2 years ago and the hook up online for FIVE DOLLARS. lol |
