Okay, I admit it, I'm double-posting this. I already asked in the M2 section, but I'm not sure how much traffic goes through there, and someone else may know the answer, so I'm asking here as well. Is there something wrong with me? I've been wanting to do something different with my '06 XBSs. I thought I'd convert it over to an R front fairing, picked up a few pieces, and now I'm thinking that's not the direction I want to go. The more I look back, the more I love the simplicity and the style of the M2 headlight and flyscreen/fairing (whatever you guys call it). It's sleek, it's symmetrical, just downright classy. Does anyone happen to know what parts would be involved with getting an M2 setup installed on an XB? I have NO idea whatsoever. I know I'd need the plastic screen and the headlight, but I don't know what else is under there. Any help (and part numbers!) would be greatly appreciated. I'd be needing black plastics (unless they made a Sunset Orange one, which I highly doubt). And yes, to those of you that helped me with the R fairing parts list, my mind is a fickle, fickle thing. Don't judge me! ~SM |

A co-worker did something similar to his XB-S. Put on a 7" headlight, had to mod the fork clamps to hold it. Left the XB instrument cluster, bare, no flyscreen. Cool look. |

it should not be too hard of a job too do the hardest part would be modding the headlight clamps to fit the forks and figuring out how you are going to mount the gauges if you keep the stock gauges. |

Yeah, I really need to see how the M2 light bracket works. I'm assuming it holds the light, fairing, and gauges all by itself? ~SM |

M2 gauges mount to the top tree. Actually, to the handlebar clamp, same as my S1W. There's an additional boss there for mounting the gauges. Light mounts to fork clamp pieces; they have arms that hold the flyscreen (4 screws), and the top of the screen rests (usually have a velcro tab to keep from rattling) on top of the instrument cluster. |

Ah, so sounds like it wouldn't be that big of a deal to mount the headlight/fairing, then rig up a bracket to hold the gauges separately. ~SM |

At least you'll be done with "Do you know you have a headlight out?" |
