Looks like some HD dealers are using eBay to unload their parts inventory. Says $16k retail selling at $10,700 buy it now Seems like there may be a market for a consolidator for Buell parts but what kind of return could you expect and when?? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/BUELL-AMERICAN-COMP LETE-PARTS-AND-ACCESSORIES-INVENTORY_W0QQcmdZViewI temQQhashZitem2ea8c53059QQitemZ200399990873QQptZMo torcyclesQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories (Message edited by firstbatch on November 15, 2009) |

I hate it we'll finally purge out any dealer that wasn't serious about Buell... It's going to be interesting Who and how many are left to support it for the next 7.... |

I thought parts were supposed to be made available for at least 7 yrs. from a legal standpoint? If the dealer's not carrying Buell any longer HD should buy back the parts from them to service the Buell customers who are still out there. Why do I get the feeling there'll be a shortage of parts before the time limits up? |

It's hard to imagine that a dealer that wasn't serious about Buell had that many parts in stock. I wonder if American Sport Bike or somebody similar will start buying stuff like this? |

If Buell offered their current parts inventory at the same discounts they are offering for the remaining motorcycles I think there would be quite a few who would "stock-up". No doubt the whole scenario sucks |

There will be a shortage if your definition of includes waiting multiple weeks for basic parts. Sure the parts will be "available", but thie "7 year mandate" probably does not require the parts to be quickly available. |

Damn, everything from tubers to 1125 parts in there. I just wish I had the cash, I would love to buy that lot. |

They better be closer to 25 cents on the dollar. Whoever gets the bid will have to pick up and put some labor into the move. |

Froggy, so with your experience you see this as a good investment? |

There are quite a few decent parts in there. But, I don't see there being enough in there for a "return." I saw it when it got listed a couple weeks ago. Some decent tuber stuff for sure in there... |

Hey! That ocean front property sure sounds interesting. Would you consider a trade for a bridge? |

There also was a bunch of Buell specialty tools on ebay a few weeks ago, including an ecm reader. I was tempted, but didn't get any. |

This is one of the Stealerships in my area. In fact, the ONLY HD/Buell shop, not owned by the Ride Now Motorsport group. It figures they would be selling it all off, with their Harley "boutique" and adjacent "coffee shop" they are more motivated towards the chrome crowd, and their Snotsdale silicon bimbos. It IS a shame though, now this means that I have absolutely NO shops here in Phoenix to bring any of my Buells to if I need warranty work.

Nope, not at those prices. There is a lot of items on there I just like to have laying around for whatever I need. I bought a smaller box of goods a few months ago from a dealer dropping Buell. $50 got me all kinds including primary case gaskets and assorted brake pads and signals. If I had $5k and offered that for the whole lot including shipping, and they bought, I would be happy. It sounds like they are selling at dealer cost. |

That's why they dumped all them bikes in that Recycle dumpster the bikes are not worth what they can get shredding them. It seems Buell Resale Value is worse than Japanese Imports. |

If you're just trying to stir the pot, I can respect that. |

That's been my fear all along, missing a month of the already too short riding season here for a $25 part. This issue is why I can't say I'll have my Buell for ever. I bought my 1125r to ride. If I can't ride it, it's worthless to me. I don't have the money to keep two bikes around, so at the risk of sounding negative I see the 1125r leaving sooner than later. |

Badlionsfan, I listed my Buell on this website for sale and everybody said it was not worth half what I have in it. That's why I made the commit I did. If I could get it for free I would take it also. |

Putting stuff into a bike will only decrease its value 99% of the time. I can't find the post you are talking about, as I only see two bikes you were selling in the archive. |

Nothing right now. I have a few things I'll be ordering over the winter to finish making her right after the lowside, right pass peg assembly, tail section plastic if my freebee falls thru, rev b clutch cover puck and a right rear turn signal that worked after the crash but has since failed. The signal is my word against HD, so I'll probably have to buy that too. Season is basically over around here, so I'll spend the winter collecting stuff to get her back to 100%. My comments and concerns are geared more toward the future. I have nightmares about missing several weeks during the summer due to waiting on some $10 part that can't be had except thru a dealer. I hope i'm wrong, so we'll see how it goes. |
