Been too busy fighting a lousy market to pay more attention. Is there any substantial news about Buell? The more I think about this event, the more I am astonished. BMW is my next model of choice. Man, I am so glad I did not throw down on that S2T awhile back. Whew! Anybody want to buy a paperweight shaped like a 2001 X1? Just kidding about the X1. I don't know the numbers, but from what I can glean some/most/all (choose one) of the employees got some sort of a severance package that should see them through the end of the year. With the shutdown/closing/termination/discontinuation (choose one) of the Buell division coupled with the end of year "normal" activities (like holidays and family gatherings and such) I wouldn't expect to see or hear to much public info until March or so. By then the departing folks will have got their funds out of the parent corporation and will be less concerned with various employment conditions and agreements. I apologize for my lack of facts. | ||

Jon, just in case you aren't trolling... Nothing new, to answer the question directly. Factory closes Dec.18, 2009 last I read, someone will post if that info is wrong. There is lots of rumor and speculation. From your profile info you've got a nice X1, I hope you are enjoying that 1250cc paper weight. Ride safe. | ||

Littlebuggles, No, I'm not trolling. Just been out of the loop and wanted to catch up. And I'm a fan. I've been helping to run the biggest Buell group around for the last 8 years! I remember the observation around here a while back was that it was strange how many Buell employees were selling their bikes. Many in ASBN took note of that. I wonder what bikes the employees are buying now? So which one of you zealots bought that S2T? Surely one of you did. | ||
