I am so sorry to hear about the difficulties John and his family are experiencing. Any one of them would be hard, all of them together sound overwhelming. I have sent up a prayer for them. |

They have relieved some pressure from John's brain and are waiting to see if he responds. They will be moving him to a hospital that specializes in brain trama. Poor Sabrina has had a transfusion and no improvement. Little Zach is scheduled for heart surgery on Monday. I don't see how Mary is handling all this. This is all second hand. I haven't spoken to Mary yet. |

In my thoughts.... I have no idea how you could handle all this at once. (Message edited by wolfridgerider on November 13, 2009) |

That's the Trifecta of bad luck. Hopefully, things will begin to turn for the better over the next few days. |

Well, actually, this would be the quad-fecta. John was here just about a month ago and he was telling me that Mary had just lost her job(long story) and with that they lost their insurance. Mary is one of the nicest people you could ever meet. Humble to a fault. Obliging beyond description. I am so sad for them. I can't even express... |

It sucks seeing a family go down because of unforeseen reasons. Tough for everybody. K |

I just spoke with Mary. Zach has developed the beginnings of pneumonia and is in the hospital. Obviously his surgery will be postponed. Sabrina is in the same hospital and has undergone another transfusion. Her kidneys aren't working properly and they are concerned about her liver swelling to the point of rupturing her spleen. When she is stabilized, she will be treated on an out patient basis. John is being moved for rehab. They have him on several meds to keep the blood clots clear and pressure down. He has recognitive skills, but motor skills are not there. On the 20th he will be sent home because there isn't room for him. Mary has no help at all. Her Dad just died last year and her Mother is blind and on a walker. I can only imagine the stress she is under. I am not sure I could hold up. Bless her heart. She has a long row to hoe. |

Pammy: Our hearts and prayers are with all your friends. I can not imagine dealing with all of that at one time. Please let us, your motorcycle family, know if there is any way we can help. Court & Vickie |

Neil, I heard that someone is setting up a fund. I talked to Mary about that as well and she seemed to be embarrassed about it. She said that she told mike that she would be grateful if everyone would just pray for them. I told her that if someone offers help, she should take it and be grateful(which of course she would anyway) for that as well. She is very scared. She doesn't know how she will handle the physical and financial portion of this trial alone. I told her she should contact a church in her area, to see if she can get some physical help also. Sabrina is home now, Zach is in one hospital and John is in another. Sabrina is just eleven and isn't supposed to be out(due to her suppressed immune system) and of course Zach needs his Mother also. Thanks Court and Vickie. I will keep you updated as soon as I get a definitive direction to go. Thanks everyone for your thoughts, prayers and well wishes. |

John is doing outpatient rehab. He has lingering issues. He syill can't speak well. (is that a bad thing?) Sorry, for those of us who know John, that will be funny. Zach is still waiting on his operation and Sabrina is still battling her illness. The good news is that Mary has had a job interview and is hopeful she can get a night job. She will have to work at night as she is the only one she has to rely on to deliver the patients to their designated appointments. So life for this family is still a challenge (understatement) but they are trying to overcome. |
