I have NEVER liked Fords. Until recently, I found them ugly. REALLY ugly. The newest models are really catching my eye. Best of all, they didn't take the government money. I think I will reward them for that with my next vehicle purchase. |

>>> I think I will reward them for that with my next vehicle purchase. Precisely what we are doing. The Mercedes is getting traded on a Ford in the middle of December. We're keeping the Ford for only a year but I really wanted to do something to support them. I'd never buy a car from GM or Chrysler after the screwing the government gave their bondholders (they gave them $0.29 on the dollar and paid the UAW in full). Talk with your wallet. Froggy . . .the Ford looks like the think Paul had in Australia. I'm not sure what it was but it was some high powered something that reminded me of an El Camino. I'm really digging the SHO and sorry Ford stopped making the SVT Focus. |

I took the course on the new Eco-Boost engine last week. Twin turbos at the exhaust manifolds for less turbo lag and 360 HP. Comes in the SHO and Lincoln MKS. |

Is that Caprice made from leftover Pontiac bodies? Looks very much like one from that angle. They did the same thing with the GMC Terrain... just a Torrent with fresh makeup. ~SM |

I am glad that the excutives didn't ax the SHO. The SHO improves the image of the entire Taurus line. I hope Ford keeps up with modernizing the new SHO and doesn't let this one go stale like the gen3 and gen4 Taurus bodies. Now if Ford would just import the new global Ranger platform with the ecotec motors, they would make a killing in the small truck segment. 300hp, tq down low out the wazo and great mpg. Sounds like the perfect bike hauler/ daily driver. |

I think I will reward them for that with my next vehicle purchase. You took every word out of my mouth. I didn't used to like Ford - their stuff was as boring and bland as a Toyota. Not to more. The 2010 Mustang has seriously grown on me, to the point that if I had $35k to blow on a sports car, I would pick it over the Camaro - especially after sitting in them side by side on Sunday. Inside and out, the Mustang just looks and feels better. Not as fast, but handles better. Hard package to beat. The new Taurus... well, I thought the outside was okay - not bland at all, but not "Oh my god I have to have that car!". Well, if you haven't sat in one, I suggest you do. I know the SHOs are expensive, so my girlfriend and I were sitting in one that I knew wasn't the SHO and we both commented on how nice it was, and I made a remark about how it should feel so nice seeing as it's a $35k car. Wrong - window sticker was for $27k. Holy cow - talk about a home run. |

That Caprice picture is just a Holden with a lousy Chevy grille photoshopped on. I'd like to say I hope that Caprice makes it to a civilian model soon, but only for the platform. The styling sucks. |

Yes the Caprice are reworked Pontiac G8's. Here's a quick little link on youtube. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yopO9vPcOlw |

Yeah, I think Ford is pretty much kickin' ass and takin' names right now. They seem to have more good stuff going on than anyone else right now, Axis powers included. If GM wasn't wringing the Camaro for all it was worth, I think people might forget they even existed. Same with Dodge and the Challenger. ~SM |

Wrong. Its based off the Holden Statesman, which is even bigger than the G8. Different engines than the G8 had too. It is built off the same platform as the G8, but so is the Camaro and Park Avenue. |

SM - I tend to like GMs trucks best, and as far as regular-old cars and crossover SUVs, I don't think anyone has GM covered, at least not enough to say outright, including the Taurus - the new Buick Lacrosse looks to be about on par with that car. The Impala needs an update BAD. |

Dear GM, Front wheel drive sucks. All wheel drive is acceptable, but rear wheel drive is what is wanted. If you are going to put a 350+ HP motor in a car, for heaven's sake, please don't make it front wheel drive. I'll take the SHO in AWD. I'll take the Caprice in rear wheel drive. I even really like the Lacrosse in AWD. I won't even consider the Maxima, even though it looks really good, because it's front wheel drive only. The Impala is a giant steaming pile of styling "no" wrapped around FWD "not". I'll accept the G6/Malibu package simply because it doesn't have enough power to make me notice how abysmal FWD is. That is all. |

Comparing 2000-ish models (all I have driven), I like GM truck handling way better than Ford. My wife (yes, my wife) has a '98 Chevy Z71 4x4 that drives like a car. My boss has a '00 Ford that drove like my '67 Dodge. I really haven't liked anything beyond the first Colorados in terms of styling, though. Ford trucks just look better, IMHO. Chevy cars bore me to tears, period. The 2009 Malibu is already starting to look dated with everyone else's new releases, the Aveo has always looked retarded, there's simply no excuse for the Impala, and the Cobalts look like 10 year old Toyotas until you rice one out. Aside from the Camaro, GM style simply sucks. I wish for once they'd actually step out on a limb and stop trying to market every car to everyone, pick one demographic per car, and NAIL it, instead of watering down the whole line. The Pontiacs were starting to get my attention, but so much for that. ~SM |

The Impala was originally slated to be replaced about now with a G8 re-badge, but gas price spike and economy killed that off. The Impala is in limbo right now, nobody seems to know whats going to become of it. Aveo, Cobalt are both on their way out the door, Malibu will be getting a refresh, Volt will be here shortly, and if things go well we might see a revived El Camino (I can dream, right?) |

I've been a Ford fan for years. I've owned several of them, and found that they stood up to all the abuse I put them through. I've had three Explorers, an F150, a Contour SVT, and a Mercury Cougar. All were fantastic vehicles. Kudos to them for not taking bail out money, and for producing innovative new cars. The new SHO is awesome! Agree with Fatty...FWD SUCKS!! AWD or RWD for me please. I'd be driving a Ford now if they had a small displacement diesel SUV for sale in the USA. But they won't bring them here. So I'll keep driving my Mercedes powered 3.0L turbodiesel Grand Cherokee I picked up the week Chrysler announced bankruptcy. I got a great deal on it. |
