He was duranged and teased and bullied, but he should have been smart enough to just shoot himself in the foot or knee (or head) so he didnt have to go abroad. Couldn't he sign himself into mental ward and still get benefits/salary? I really hope he lives in shame for the rest of his life and they serve him pork 3x a day. Remember this dude like the Alamo. You know sometimes the ignorance on this board really drives me nuts. Why must we directly correlate Muslim to terrorist? Why do we as Americans have this exceedingly disgusting ethnocentric view of the world? Why do we feel the urge to blame the presidency for things like this? Why are the BEST Christians always the dumbest most eccentric people you've ever met? Why cant anyone understand that there is only so much a person can take. Im not sympathizing with the guy but I do know how many minorities are treated in the military (I spent 8 years as a soldier and believe me the sh*t that goes on and the racial discrimination is appalling especially in the lower ranks (E1-E5 of course yeah he was a major but that doesnt mean it stops at E5), but I suppose we're all great Christians and da*nit we're ALWAYS right, nevermind the Crusades. I would personally love to see headlines about "Christian serial killers" or "Christian blows up abortion clinic", of course that would never happen because our God is so much better than Allah. When I am faced with narrowminded one sided views it honestly makes me sad to call myself an American. To come to the realization that I spent my time in the service fighting for the feedoms of idiots is really a sad moment in time for me. And yes I fully know I will get harassed from all you better Americans on this board for this post. | ||

Chris, the great thing about our country is the freedom we have to each have our own opinion and the freedom to express it. I appreciate your comments even if I don't agree with them all. If we all felt the same way each thread would only have one post on it. America is still a melting pot I suppose, at least that is what the kettle told me it was. | ||

I did not single out or attack any one person. Yea I realize that now, I forgot there was a bunch of other posts before mine. He is guilty of MURDER x12. (And just happens to be muslim) I still stand by my original statement. In prison, feed him PORK. But the 3rd part will unlikely happen. Who's guns did he use? How much ammo did he bring? My prayers and sympathies to the families that lost loved ones today, and the the units that lost teammates. Theres a facility in Uzbekistan, that would be glad to have him. Remember he is subject to UCMJ first, then criminal/civil court. The guilty until proven innocent thing isnt applicable in military courts. Especially if he is classified as a terrorist. | ||

I want to reiterate that by no means am I siding with this guy for his actions. I anxiously await hearing the names of the deceased and wounded because I served 6 years with the 3rd ACR one of major units in Hood. All I am trying to relay is that before we all jump to conclusions please hear out the WHOLE story. This guy was an American citizen, born in the US but had ties in Jordan from what I an ascertain. The muslim community is up in arms over this and they are pissed that this happened just like we all are. Two prominent Muslim groups in America have already made statements of how horrible these acts of violence were and that it is never acceptable. Dont blame an entire religion or culture for the acts of some. | ||

Early reports this morning are now saying 13 dead. The shooter used two handguns and probably reloaded at least once. Caliber not released yet. Unknown if the handguns were military issue or private purchase. A first responder shot the shooter four times, and was herself shot once by the shooter. Details subject to change as more details get released. |
