Emotions are raw, tempers are short, don't let the decisions of a squid in the board room nor the ramblings of inexperienced newbies ruin what Buellers have - each other and our passion for for the most fun to ride motorcycles made in America. ~jammer PS. Everyone knows the most adventurous are the Barricade Orange ones. |

It was probably a bad idea to comment on those concerns on a public forum, It's easy enough to find out how to contact someone through PM or some other method, it's always better not to show off your stupidity or air your dirty laundry in your families face. IMO shame on you for thinking your brother is a pirate. |

Brian, Steve; Over the years, I have fronted cash for smaller events... Much smaller. For various reasons, the donations almost always came up short. I am glad that in this case, that did not happen. Do NOT be too proud to pay yourselves for your expenses such as vehicle mileage, cell phone air-time and whatever else, out of the "Surplus". Your time and trouble was more valuable than most, perhaps any, individual donation. You have less surplus than you think. As for the surplus; during the event, you kept the donors well appraised of the options available. Now, it is just a matter of agreement, which seems to be happening by general consensus. As for Homecoming; you will need some operating cash in advance. Do not be intimidated to ask for it. I know that you will be honorable with it. Thank you for all of your time, effort and integrity. You guys came through in a big way in a short period of time. Well done! |

The thing that I have noticed in my many years of organizing volunteer activities is that quite often it is the person that gripes that is least willing to put in the effort to help. As soon as a person gripes to me I thank them for the input and then offer them a position to help out next time. I am almost never taken up on the offer. |

TatScrew, come on! You are one of the few BWB to know and see who I am. I enjoyed the event. I am happy to have given what I did for it. So long as I am happy you don't need to worry about what anyone else here thinks! |

Maybe any excess of funds should go to Blake, for a rainy day? Who knows if he'll need funds if sponsors move on. It was good to see Brian again, good to see him passionate about the company and the event on the 26th, its a shame that somebody who cares so much about Buell wants to be back in shadows. |

"Where's my $2.00!!!!" Was in a stupid movie and sounds stupid now. Both Steve and Brian did a freaking awesome job on short notice for "Just answering the phone." Roll it over to Homecoming. |

Both Steve and Brian did a freaking awesome job on short notice I wasn't there, but from the photos and comments from everyone, I'd say that Brian and Steve did an excellent job. The fact that they pulled off food, donations and a luncheon for ~350 people in a weeks time is impressive. I wish we could have participated, but it just wasn't in the cards. We have enjoyed following the threads and pictures. |

M2, that was Better off Dead, a John Cusack movie. And the paper boy wanted his $2.00, but in the end ate it big time off a cliff into some trees, the french exchange student was hot though. |

Please bear with me, I am on a 12 hour shift, almost hit a deer today, am riding to work and home in the dark, it is Monday and I am not in a good mood. Tattoodnscrewd, it boggles my mind the effort that goes into any event. Even a relatively small one like the one you did has a lot of moving parts. There are very few people here that can pull this stuff off like you did. Looks like everything worked out. I do not have a lot of experience with these things but know who to contact if I ever need help, which is often. I am really looking forward to meeting you at the next Homecoming if I attend. It seems to me that the content, calling out, name calling and less than ethical practices are increasing on the BadWeb. It is hard for me to deal with people of unethical practices that resort to name calling when they are ruffled. This clearly DID NOT happen in this case I and I am glad to see it. Squidbuzz showed a lot of class by apologizing in this public forum. Through the BadWeb I have met some wonderful people, too many to list but they are people I always enjoying seeing and talking to either in person by phone or over the Internet. Those people are getting few and far between lately. I am disgusted with people that have a total disregard for those looking for help. There are people that seem to be proud of how long they have been on the BadWeb and how many post they have and like to point that out when someone is new, that is hogwash. People, that when you try to find out if someone is illegally marketing a product, go out of their way to slam you for trying to preserve the integrity of the BadWeb. Integrity is what keeps sponsors on this site and keeps the BadWeb running. The BadWeb, the Buell experience and knowledge of the people are more important than ever. Events like you did and the next Homecoming that Steve, Dana, Rocco and others are doing will be very important to the rest of the Buell community. We have lost a few that I wish would come back but I have to think their lives are probably better by not dealing with some of the crap going on. I have no idea how Blake, Court the Custodians and others put up with this stuff sometimes. There are Buell Riders and Buell Enthusiast. Buell Riders are only concern about THEIR bike and if they can get parts, cheap deals etc. Buell Enthusiast are about helping ALL Buellers. It is not about the 1125, XBs or tubers, it is about the people. I guess that is to be expected as there are many new Buellers around but I will bet that 99 percent of them are top notch and have a lot to offer. 1 percent seem to be the loudest and the ones responsible for driving good folk away. There are other Web Sites about Buell but they do not offer as much as the BadWeb does in my opinion. I will tell you something, if I was a sponsor, and I am not, I do not think I would remain a sponsor when I see some of the BS going on. The Custodians have an impossible job trying to keep up with everything and have a life. It was recently pointed out to me that I need to learn how to use the “search” function. That is funny when you get 100 post of BS. It was also pointed out that I am not a Custodian and should leave well enough alone. Well, maybe they are right. Regardless things are changing for the better and for the worse. I firmly believe in the BadWeb as the best forum for Buell Motorcycle Enthusiast. I also believe if the BadWeb becomes static it will die. I know for a fact the BadWeb, the sponsors and the Custodians are making sure it is not but it is also up to us BWB people to make sure it is viable and up to the task. Funny how life works, whenever I get fed up I usually have something happen that makes it worthwhile again and that happened today. Frank |

Squidbuzz showed a lot of class by apologizing in this public forum. Yes he did. I consider Both Todd(Squidbuzz), and Brian(Tattoodnscrewd) close, personal friends. All this is, is a misunderstanding. And an agreement to disagree at this point. Hopefully, we'll look back someday and laugh about all of this. P.S. I hate being in the middle of this type of crap, so if anything like this ever happens again, I'm going to their heads together! |

"It seems to me that the content, calling out, name calling and less than ethical practices are increasing on the BadWeb. It is hard for me to deal with people of unethical practices that resort to name calling when they are ruffled." I say we blame Badlionsfan for all of this. He is clearly the root cause of the "less than ethical practices" here on Bad Web. http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/406 2/510408.html?1257612666

F_skinner +++1 I've run events for HOG and I have produced the DAV Vets Run for the last 8 of its 22 years of our HOG chapter and dealership raising money and awareness for our nations veterans who have been injurred. It never ceased to amaze me how people would come up and whine about the food, something like, "I don't like pork, why don't you offer BBQ beef for people like me?" You have to find your own solitude in your efforts to produce the event and be like a good rain slicker to the pundits and the insensitive dolts. Their money helps the beneficiaries as good as appreciative participants money does. For instance, I'll take crap all day from any and all Buell owners who comes to our 23rd DAV Vets Run July 5th 2010 for how couch riding Harley owners are not real bikers. |
