Any reason the threads pertaining to this run were moved from the quick-board to storm fronts? I see 6 threads for the Oct. 26 ride still on the quickboard (thankfully, as I enjoy reading each of the oct. 26 run threads, and I like looking at the photos even more), but the HHR stuff's all moved. Why would this be? (Message edited by tramp on October 28, 2009) |

My guess is the clean up and organize things. After an event is over they they tend to get sucked into the storm fronts, this includes March Badness and Buelltoberfest and Homecoming threads. In a few more days, I would assume the same happens to the Oct 26th ride threads. |

I presume you're not a betting man, Frogs- The Oct. 26 threads will stay on the quickboard, as well they should. all 6 or 7 of them. |

Blake I am starting to get a tad bit annoyed. When you do stuff like that it makes me think you got a personal thing going on and that aint cool |

The HHR is a local thing for you guys just like Buelltoberfest or March Badness are local/regional for the folks in the south. Those inevitably get moved to the Storm Fronts or C3 section after a while. (Message edited by ft_bstrd on October 29, 2009) |

The Oct 26 ride wasn't regional? I live in NY and rode to GA for March Badness... how regional can it be? I don't particularly care that they were moved - if anything, they're easier to find now, all grouped together nice. |

Ft-bstrd... Nice try, but no cookie. People ride here from the Carolinas and New Hampshire, and some have classically flown in from farther than that. At least you're consistent |

Yeah, I spend my scant free time looking for ways to irritate others. WTF? I simply doing my best to keep things tidy here. I did notify Jay at the time, but he apparently missed the email. I will also be gathering up the 10/26 threads to store them all in one spot as well. If this kind of thing annoys you, suggest you get some meds, seek therapy, take a vacation, or at least go for a ride. Good grief! You're welcome. |

See what I mean moderate don't comment I don't like it when you make it personal and now I am starting to not like you, and I really don't want to do that, I like coming on these boards |

You know; years ago, I was attending an AA meeting and somebody said that if you didn't like the meeting, or the way it was run, you should go start your own meeting. All that was necessary was a resentment and a coffee pot. I've met Blake, and he's all right. I've met Jay and he's all right, too. There have been times that I've disagreed with how this site is run (I still think that Political discussions belong in the dumpster); but I've looked at how successful Badweb is, compared to any other Buell related board, and I have to admit that, in spite of my beliefs, Blake and Co. are doing a very good job. The threads weren't eliminated, they were just moved to a location that the moderators felt was more appropriate. That's a common practice on many boards that I've visited. Blake owns this site. He pays the bills to keep it running. If he wants to run it his way, that's his right. If the way he runs it bothers anyone to a great degree, then I suggest he (or she) put their money where their mouth is, and go start their own site, and run it as they see fit. |

I've looked at how successful Badweb is, compared to any other Buell related board I think that's the bottom line. I don't agree with how every situation is handled here (and I've gotten into with mods and Blake in the past), but then again, I don't need to. Overall, I really like the joint and as you pointed - what else out there in the Buell world remotely compares to this place? I don't think the threads being moved is a bad thing. They're all easy to find now - to be honest, I was a little miffed as to why we needed 5 of them in the first place as keeping track of who said what where was a little daunting at times. In other news, I'm leaving in about 30 minutes for a 3 1/2 hour drive to NH to pick up my new-to-me 2002 S3T, and then I'm RIDING it home! 200 miles is good for the soul. |

Um... I started the thread with a simple and sincere question, that's all. No complaints, etc. By the way, I've met Crusty, and he's NOT all right. He gave me a wedgie and scrawled "pimp wagon" on my S2's tank....then he goobered in my BBQ Chicken at the Dinosaur. aaarrrgghhhhh |

I can't figure out why it makes a difference what section it's posted under, so long as it's till there, or why there would be a fuss about it. I don't even understand getting pissed about the Backfire Board. Is it honestly that hard to click on a different link? If the 26th ride happens to get a little special attention, well, I think we could all understand why. ~SM |

Swordsman- Most Badwebbers I've spoken to state that they spend the bulk of their site-time on the quick board. I'm not sure who's getting "pissed about the 'backfire board'"...in fact, I've never heard of or seen this feature. Perhaps a more efficient protocol might involve keeping one thread for a given run on the quick board...or at least a "moved" notice. Before bootlegging any bogey-inertia to this post, please understand that this is a suggestion, not a complaint. Reclassification-selectivity presenting on Badweb should come with little surprise- extracurricular editorial abounds onsite. This is something we all accept when lingering here... as is the case with many otherwise enthusiast-centered web-forums. As I learned "from the townies" while living under communism many years back: Ignoring the propaganda broadcasting down from the top will allow you to discover the goodness in those around you. In person, I've not met one a$$hole from Badweb, and I doubt I will. I think we're all trying to do our best in this life, and web-forums provide only a fly-specked window into the essence of any of us. Brumbear has proven an absolute privilege to meet, and I imagine that goes for many here, including Blake, who's been nothing short of cool via email. ...not sure he could be "short" of mucha anything....dang Texas sasquatch the guy is... |

I said I like it hear I just don't like when there is comment on moderation I sincerly feel it's not needed as it can be concieved as a sort of vendetta if it becomes any one person to get commented on sorry to hijack but I think am allowed to gripe a little. I know I don't have to come here I just don't want it to become what some other sites have become and I know who pays the bills Thank You for this site if I have not said it before there it is. |

Hehe, the Backfire Board is where all the stuff gets moved to when it gets overheated but doesn't warrant actual deletion. Religion and politics head that way most of the time, with a few pic threads where people simply can't resist throwing in bikini girls. You have to be logged in to see it. I believe that section was created during your "absence". ~SM |

"When you (Blake) do stuff like that (consolidating common discussion threads) it makes me think you got a personal thing going on and that ain't cool." "I just don't like when there is comment on moderation I sincerely feel it's not needed as it can be conceived as a sort of vendetta if it becomes any one person to get commented on." I agree. Try heeding your own advice? I'm still puzzled about what it takes to imagine that consolidating the location of a few discussion threads indicates any kind of "a personal thing going on." |

I believe it's the appearance of selective moving that makes that impression. Oct. 26 ride threads remain on the quickboard, while HH threads were moved. I'm sure we're all stoked that the oct. 26 threads are still on the quickboard, as they should be, but why not the HH threads? These runs both have value to the buelling community, well outside of their immediate region. Holy sh*t one BIG 8-pointer is moseying past the office window! }} |
