A heartfelt thanks to Lori and the rest of the team. You have brought more joy to my life than you can possibly imagine. Every time I mount my ride I grin from ear to ear and giggle like a little school girl. Thank you very much.

It's always been about the people! Without the people there could never be the family that brought this all together over the past 26 years. Yeah the hardware is amazing but, without the people...... we all know!

Thank you Lori, Erik and all the Elves too many to name.

We also need the riders that have brought the rest of us together to explore the bounds that "most" roads can't tame.

I said from the first day I rode an 1125r, this was the Buell I have been waiting for. I had already found the family 10 years ago to help me find my way to today.

Thank you all, the ride is NOT over yet!

First I have a festival to run then Badweb goes down for a little while; good thing it's slow at work today or I couldn't catch up on my reading...

But much thanks to all of those involved in producing a motorcycle with so much character, personality and caliber as any ever produced. I've had great fun and seen great places on mine, sure it needs some TLC every now and then but that's all part of the fun. God willing I'll keep mine until one of my children are able to continue on with it, it's just that much fun.

You people simply Amaze me!

I am so grateful to have had this opportunity to be involved in this piece of motorcycle history! And all you folks are a huge part of that! Thank you for the thank yous... awww geez this could go on & on & on.... NO! Thank You! I have passed the message on but several of my co-worker family have been lurking and already saw this thread.
I've been thinking how much I can't wait until Monday to see those of you that will be visiting us but on the other hand, would so much like to just stop time & go to work every day for the rest of my life, much like in the movie "Groundhog's Day"... I know I'll find another path and a way to make a living but will most certainly miss the coolest manufacturer of the Best bikes on earth!!!

Swordsman, your new addition in Beautiful! Especially when sportin' The hat! : ) Several of my co-elves feel the same! I know my Grandbabies have been my saving grace through all of this! Congrats & Blessings to you & family!

It would be nice for the media to put a positive spin on the 10/15/2009 announcement.

A hundred bikes coming into little East Troy together would make some pretty impressive video for the 10:00 news.

I had the distinct pleasure of working at Buell as a consultant for a while. I just wanted to offer my personal observation to you all that Buell is the real deal - an authentic American success story inhabited by some of the most dedicated, innovative, and genuine people I have ever had the honor to work beside. And my experience with places to work spans over 30 years and more places than I care to count. They had the fine art of balancing cutting edge, quick turn-around innovation with practical product development and manufacturing down - and that's not easy. Thanks Lori for going public and starting this thread.

I just left East Troy a while ago. Stopped by Panera bread for some caffeine and sugar and to send you all this note. What a freakin in incredible day. There must've been 200 bikes there. Erik was there as well as all the factory folks you've met on this board. It almost brought me to tears, having lunch with the employees (incredible bunch of folks) and listening to Erik and Court speak. A day I'll never forget! Thanks Lori B. for all you've done. I looked for you today and it think I may have seen you way across the lunch room but couldn't make it over to say hi. Good luck to you and all the wonderful people at Buell.

Lori, please pass on many "Thanks You's" from me. I couldn't make it to ET today, but every time I get on one of my Buells, they take me away. Away from the stress of my job. It allows me to refocus. I've got a great business, but at times, like any business, things can get a little out of control. Riding my Buell is my therapy. While the upfront cost of buying it may be high, the ride is as they say "Priceless"!
The ride goes on, and on, and on.

Sad to hear that through no fault of your own, decisions were made that affect all who work there. Wish I could do more.

Some people go to work, punch the time clock, put in their time, punch the clock and go home day after day. When I was in East Troy for the 25th Anniversary, I didn't see that mindset anywhere. Workers from the receptionist, to the assembly line workers, to the guy cleaning up, all seemed so gracious and warm/inviting. You can't make people do that. It comes out naturally. I'm positive that from the top down, Erik and "Flick", these guys set the tone of the workplace. Erik and Jon have been open and welcoming every time I've met them, either at the factory, or a race track, or an open house, it doesn't matter. I think that's why there is such a closeness when around other Buellers.

Anyway, THANKS AGAIN! for all that you, Erik, and the multitude of "elves" have done for us as Buelligan's. Though the factory may close, the friendships that have happened, literally around the world, because of your efforts will remain strong and continue for a LONG LONG time.

Best regards and hope for a brighter future,
Dan Baker

Thanks Lori and everyone at Buell Motorcycle Company!!!

I became a Bueller in 2000 aboard a Molten Orange M2 because of a long haired, hippy dude that everyone here knows as DaveS.

Dave and I spent lots of time on our bikes in the early days and even did our first track day together, a Buell sponsored event at Road America.

The Buell community really opened my eyes to what motorcycling could and should be. Having attended just about all the Homecomings since 2001, having met and visited with several employees, meeting Erik (now numerous times) I can say without hesitation that this family has had a huge impact on my life.

I will continue carrying the flag on the track and on the street.

Thanks to everyone!!!

Despite my sometime criticism of Buell I hope all those it matters to understood it came from a passion within me to challenge Buell to build bikes I liked. They did several times, which is why I still own one. And sometimes not. Hence the criticism.

I don't believe this is the last we'll see of an Erik Buell motorcycle, and it might even be great in some respects the possibility of a hand built type low volume extra special Buell - a dream if you like, now the doors been shut on what was now. But it is sad, terribly sad, that a company as rich in flavour and personality as Buell, emanated by so few from a small building somewhere in America, can touch so many with passion towards the product, touch others at the captains of similar industry levels in awe, have the worlds press often eating out of their hands when the press clearly know they're in the presence of greatness, and this is to be no more. That is a terribly sad loss on an epic scale to global motorcycling. Companies like Buell, as close to their fan base as possible, are rare indeed. Even more so now. Shame on HD for this crime to motorcycling history, and to probably the greatest living motorcycle innovator alive today.

Great luck to and for the future - and thanks from Rocket in England for sometimes ruining my life, my marriage, my fun, and my bank account, but you must have done something really bloody special because it's still ruining my life in the best possible way after 11 years. And you know what. The older and wiser I get, I wouldn't have it any other way. Without that damn bike I wouldn't have done so many wonderful adventures, nor met some amazing people, many of whom are close friends to this day. You can't get that on a Honda - can you? Oh boy, please don't tell me that's our future, lol. I'll be sticking with my damn bike. Nothing is as mean and bloody hard to ride, and I love that.

With Love

Rocket

Really wish I could've been there yesterday. I had an appointment I could not change, I'll tell you about it someday.

The majority of the finest people I know and call "friend" rode up to me on a Buell. Or they rode up on something else and I sent them home with a Buell (smile)
Buell motorcycles changed my life and just as important, allowed me to change the lives of many.
I now wish I had kept better records of all the Buells I sent home with people, taken more pictures and kept more of the stuff that used to be in "Dave's closet of Buell stuff for the worthy".

Thank you Lori for posting here. Thank you Elves for building my Uly, the best bike I've ever ridden. I truly am excited every time I fire 'er up. Looking forward to the next chapter. Keeping the faith in NY..............
