From the Fox6 link: " The last Buell motorcycle will be made on Friday, October 30, 2009." I get the feeling that last Buell will have names written all over it. I hope it ends up in a good place. (No flash option on the phone, I'll have to see those later) |

Sad. Not much in the way of hope offered up by Erik Buell, in regards to keeping the company intact. |

There are many better choices than that! Definitely a Ducati or an Aprilia rather than that plastic transformer toy. Expensive and crushed on the track by Ducatis and Buells and Aprilias. |

It was a sad and moving day. The employees very much appreciated the rally, the support, the love. Many tears and not just among Erik and the employees, I was not the only owner struggling to keep my eyes dry. But in the end, in Erik's inimitable fashion, he managed to put a bit of a positive view on the whole thing by saying that all the great people, ideas, practices and achievements were like those puffballs you used to blow on as a kid, thousands of seeds scattered across the countryside to take root and prosper elsewhere. That pretty much go the tears flowing. It has been a great ride, a great team, great friends and great things achieved. Very much Teddy Roosevelt's man in the arena times 180. Each one of these people has tried with all their heart, mind and will to achieve greatness. Much greatness has been achieved. Buell is dead, long live Buell. |

Out of all rides I was not able to make, this one I will always regret. I just could not get away. Kristi and I rode yesterday to a marina and had some ice cream. Here were all these very expensive yachts and what was everybody walking around? Our two Buells were the spot of attention. Even though my Uly was so dirty the wheels looked black, there were three different people stop us and talk about the bikes. Much greatness achieved, I could not put it any better Dave. To Erik and company, for those of you that read this, I wore my Buell shirt to work today in your honor. You guys have done great things and I pray God blesses you all with good fortune and happiness in the future. |

Thanks for the vids... Brought a tear to my eye. I wanted to be there, but it just wasn't to be. I know I will also regret that I was not able to make this ride.... Like Never said; As long as a Buell is on the road, Buell is not dead. I offer that the spirit of Buell will live a long, long time!!!! |

Thanks for the vids Ourdee. Wish I was able to attend. My thoughts and prayers to the Buell family. Not much riding season left here but as soon as I can replace my Uly's rear sneaker I'll put more miles on in honor to the fine people of E. Troy. |

Did you know if you travel for 160mi at about 85mph in 40* pouring rain your oil temp never goes above 100*? I do now.... Had a great time, which is a wierd way to express the day, meeting everyone and the employees. I took some pics and will post them up later. They actually let us take pics and video of the assembly line. I left feeling not too depressed mostly highly hopeful. No one can be sure if there is a future for Buell Motor Company but the spirit of the "FAMILY" will live on. If Honda decided to drop the Goldwing or something like that I imagine there wouldn't be folks showing up on a Monday with 1 weeks notice in the cold fall rain to Honda North America. Very proud and pleased that so many of us showed up. Thank you to everyone that did and that supported the food effort. By the way heard some specs on the 2011 Buell mystery bike. 3 employees told me the same exact things about the bike. If only it would have made it. 1125R + chain drive + displacement - 50lbs of weight= ??? Someday hopefully there will at least be pics although it doesn't look much different from the RR from what I was told. |

Anyone else meet Willoftexas? Never made a long ride before or a group ride, scrambled to put bags on his Uly and rode up from Texas solo. Glad I had 2 pairs of gloves. Made it home in just under 6 hours as the second pair were just getting wet. |

I have a request- first, though, I'd like to say thanks to all of you who rode in yesterday, in crappy weather. I know everyone in ET appreciated the day. I worked there ten years, and had to be there yesterday to witness, and add my own good-byes to the family. My request is, if there are any of the 'last ride' decals remaining, I'd really like to get one, to replace the broke-wing bird on the rear window of my elky - I'm giving H-D back the bird (read it how ya want to). Again, thanks to all of you - a fine showing yesterday.
