i know i'm going to get shot for even asking but here we go anyway. say you bought a new buell within the last year, if you had know that buell was going to close its doors would it have influenced your choice? ok now say your feeling a little riped because the bike you bought less then a year ago is worth maybe half of what it was. if the dealership was willing to give you a fair trade-in would you do it? |

I bought 2 08 Buells in the last year. Granted they wern't brand new when I bought them but I dont regret my decision one bit. I have three Buells in the garage and I will never sell them. I only want to add to the collection! |

I bought another one 3 days ago but in all fairness the price made me do it. I could understand why people wouldn't but I would |

I think that if you're purchasing motorcycles with an eye for resale value, you really should avoid a career in investment banking or stocks. Motorcycles are for riding, purchase the scoot that stirs your wild thing and ride it. It's a motorcycle, not a blue-chip. |

oops misread I can understand why people would not want to buy a Buell right now. I bought the CR cause I got 12K worth of machine for 6K out the door I don't intend to sell it or any of my buells I love my XB also the KZ I will let go but not the Buells unless I have to |

If I had the extra change now I would buy and if I had had the extra money one month ago I would have bought. And the only regret would be the Harley-Davidson "experience". |

I bought a brand new 09 CR in August. I don't care. Oh, I just bought a 08 1125R today. I don't care again. |

Honestly, I probably wouldn't have bought my 1125r last year had I known. Not because I don't like it, I love it. My concern is parts order lead time. I've got a great dealer for service, but they can only order parts and can't control when HD will decide to ship them for their extinct red-headed step child. If parts delays start costing me a lot of riding time, she'll have to get traded in on something else. |

I can attest to the fact that Froggy buys 'em to ride 'em. |

If I'd have totaled my bike a month ago I would have bought another (08 1125R). Had I known the prices were going to drop I would have waited and bought two. I'm contemplating buying another anyway, but I'll probably have to wait. I can't imagine the used market will drop much below what they are selling for now - I would think you could part one out for close to $4k I hope it does tho |

Paying-off dealers to dump their Buell inventory. That H-D action supports my "cause of death" hypothesis: dealers opened the door in '92, and closed it in '09. |

No, it would be a bad investment, but hay how is a bike a good investment? Ask that question of a Henderson of just a fiew years back.... There will be difficultys. You think it was a hassel getting Buell parts before from the dealer, just give it a couple years... |

To be honest I bought my 2002 M2 in the August right after the release of the XB9. I figured with Buell being a small company who knew if they were going to last, however HD would continue producing sportster parts so at least half of my bike would always have spare parts available. The other half of the bike I havd accumulated parts in my garage off eBay "just in case". It was/is my goal to have my bike still on the road whether the Buell Motorcycle Co. was still around or it went the way of so many others... For that same reason (among others) I have never been compelled to buy another Buell as I never saw a positive trend between HD and Buell. I just never understood how seperate those companies seemed to be in sharing and utilizing technology. Buell had tons to offer Harley and Harley could have surely helped out with all the Fuel Injection issues that seemed to plague Buell since the X1 model. |
