Don't take this personally Corey as I know it is no fault of yours but the only reason I ever darkened the door of an HD dealership was to buy my Buell and in the past get parts for it. And I'm sure you've heard the news about Buell. I've not been there for quite some time as every time I would even mention the word Buell at the parts counter I instantly became invisible or somehow contracted the plague and on more than one occasion the parts I verified were there on the phone only minutes before miracously disappeared. Again no offense but the HD culture just isn't my cup o' tea. If I was in the market for a new bike right now I would possibly take a leftover Buell off your hands but now's just not the time. at least i can say that i had a lot better experience with man-o-war than i did with knoxville hd. but definitely understand. i'm miffed by the local dealers we have here. | ||

I recieved this email on Monday and thought it was amazing:  Today you start a new work week, and your motorcycle is probably parked until the weekend. Let us do OUR work and service it while it sits! Repairs, replacing things or complete rebuilds - we'll get it done right so your bike is ready to ride when you are ready! Schedule your service appointment ASAP! The first thing that went through my head was "Parked till the weekend??? I fricken ride it every day!" The next thing I noticed was the picture... are they servicing that V-Rod in a freakin barn? Epic Fail. | ||

...and the response. Well thank you for responding Michael! I have these lists to get through and you are the first to ever respond, even if it was such an upsetting one. I apologize for any behavior here but should you ever return, you can come straight to me and I promise things will be different. I can't imagine you'd miss Thomas Hubbel, our Chrome Consultant, but he is HUGE into the Buell's. If you'd like to talk with someone who really knows his Buell and aftermarket parts, he's your guy. I know a little about them myself but Thomas taught me the most. We do actually have some Buell's left so should you be interested in the future let me know. I'm a big fan of Buell's myself and I hate to see them go. They finally won a championship and then BAM, they're gone. It doesn't make any sense at all. They made some of the most major breakthroughs I've seen in motorcycle history in the shortest amount of time. You've got a great bike, let me know if there's anything I can do, and thanks again for some kind of response! Corey H. Well, from a sales perspective it makes sense. They see us as riders without a chosen manufacturer, and probably think we are prejudiced toward buying a Harley since we own Buells. Forgive them Lord, they know not what they do. | ||

I hated those batch emails. I never sent them out. They were a batch of buzy work. Best way to get to the sales was always personal contact. You never want to make a cold call, and email is the worse sales pitch there is. Let the dealer batch mail their 'parties' and events. If I wanted to sell a bike, it was from meeting people, talking to previous customers.... and... wait for it... riding the bike. A bike like Buell makes you a instant conversation stater where ever you go. Its like fishing at the hatchery | ||

They all look just a little too puzzled for my liking. Not sure if any of them would like the thought of getting their pretty little hands dirty. And if the big fella stood there with his foot on MY bike like that...he'd walk with a permanent limp from then on. Perhaps it's parked outside 'the blue oyster' bar? | ||

Got my first BUELL related email from my HD/Buell dealer two days ago. Of course, it was an email detailing how they were blowing out the brand. Sad and very telling. | ||
