I appreciate the offer, but if I was to walk into the place with a photo of myself in uniform, well that kind of feels like begging. No thanks. I'll either eat at home or pay for my meal. (Message edited by eboos on October 20, 2009) |

Eboos, I know what you are say.... but let someone do something nice for you... it makes them feel good. Plus, you can always take someone with you and buy their dinner for them. Leave a nice tip for your waiter or waitress... they could use it I'm sure. |

I don't think anyone would believe that was me in uniform (except Mom), I had hair back then. |

This is pretty sweet. To bad the nearest Applebee's from my house is about 80 miles. |

doesn't bother me to "beg" by showing an ID, picture, whatever it takes. I've gotten in the habit of asking for a military discount anywhere I go. I didn't at first, but halfway through Iowa on the way to the 25th a $95 hotel room cost me $65 after asking for the military discount. Made up my mind then that I'd start asking everywhere I go! |

I don't mind asking either...But then I just flash the ID as well. Asking saved me 15% on my monthly apartment rent! |
