The engine is developed. The contract with Buell terminated. Rotax is in the business of selling developed engines. Who will be the first to buy it and put it in their model? Aprilia Bimota Roehr Fisher Yard Man Lawn Boy Who's it gonna be? |

Me! I am gonna start building hovercrafts in my basement. (Actually, that doesn't sound like a bad idea ) Maybe Roehr can work his magic with it, put a small super charger on it to match the Vrod motor, but without the boat anchor weight penalty. |

i don't think it is that simple, you need to know the details off the selling out contract first, could be the castings are property off hd now so no other can use the helicon engine |

Froggy, you know that's not such a crazy idea, what with global warming going to flood low lying areas & all that. |

Wouldn't mind seeing what a new Tuono with the 1125 would look like. The current styling of the Tuono is awful. Couldn't do much worse with the new engine. |

Aprilia doesn't need the Helicon. They have their wonderful new v4 that will go in a redesigned Tuono. |

Yep...just read the article on the Tuono V4. It's an awesome bike. Sadly, I like twins. Like how they make power, they have fewer moving parts to adjust and they make great noises. I just like twins. Good things come in pairs. |

I would imagine that HD owns the rights to the Helicon. Doubt you'll see it anywhere unless HD sells those rights. |

Any finished and unused motors will be crated up and shipped to Milwaukee. All designs belong to Harley. To this day the 1125 hasn't seen one second on a HD PDC dyno. I don't see it being on one anytime soon. What a waste. |

many times you have heard :if only but,we are locked into this design because" because the molds are made,, the money expended , development time and money does not exist and so on. management speak. THIS is now not the case( I donot want it to be assumed that I think money is to be plucked from the sky),but it is people that make things work. what is a new design? I really do not know here but I assume that is hd is not going to use the helicon anyway.( or then it would not be hd-see my other post in "I have a story") |

The hella-con was made to fit in a buell frame a stressed member. I'm not sure its so easy to drop into another frame with out loosing some benefits of the original design. |
