I was told once that "NO" was when the conversation begins, not ends. As long as someone doesn't give up - as impossible as some things sound there are certain types of personalities that latch on to something like this and work miracles. Won't be overnight, could be months or a couple of years. Some people live for the fight! I like the continued poke in the HD eye, and if all it does is make them uncomfortable and build awareness that's ok. It's a nice business ethic, not for the recipients of the poke, but it's not personal. |

This could be a strong force to keep HD honest. Legally HD can say: "F*** you. We're not giving you any rights, we're not going to let you use your name, we're not going to let you use any existing designs . . . " But politically, the county can say: "Hey, wait a minute. You're not being a good citizen. You're not allowing Americans to build sport-motorcycles and since Buell is the only real American sport-motorcycle manufacturer, all those jobs will be going overseas." Being perceived as a company that stands in the way of American manufacturing jobs could be very damaging to Harley's image . . . and remember, to Harley, image is everything. As long as an independant voice, such as the county officials, can keep this in the public eye, Harley will not be able to be as draconion as their legal rights may allow. This is one of the few areas that we have a little bit of power. If things start getting ugly, we can take our fight to the media and use this concept for leverage. Erik can't disclose anything to them. HD would have to and done is done. Is it not Erik Buell's company? All H/D did is give a motor and a roof over Buell's head for sales. Am I wrong? How about being positive. Done is not done.... |

Here is a website with some contact info. if anyone would like to drop them a line and let them know that they have an Army of supporters out there who share their goal. http://www.walworthbusiness.com/page.asp?id=87 Maybe we should invite them to join the forum to keep us updated on their efforts and let us know if there are any ways we can help. |

Elvis, you should take it upon yourself to do what you can to invite ANYONE to our little neck of the woods. I've got some ideas myself, and from that perspective, no one can stop me. Just do it. Splinter cell. If you're a Bueller, you know what's best for Buell. Trust your instincts and fly! Realize the worst news would have been that EB had died. Beyond that, life is negotiable. |

How about being positive I live in the area. East Troy won't change a thing. Erik cannot speak in the behalf of HD to help the situation. Jesse its not that I'm not positive. I have friends that work there |

"Is it not Erik Buell's company? All H/D did is give a motor and a roof over Buell's head for sales. Am I wrong? How about being positive. Done is not done...." Erik Buell sold Buell Motorcycle Company in its entirety to Harley Davidson. They can do with it as they please. Even the name "Buell" is now owned by Harley Davidson. |

They were to move that was for sure. As the economy quickly changed for the worse that changed also. |

I see so many positive things. I look forward to meeting with the committee and discussing some ideas. P.S. - Sure is easy to sort out the entrepreneurs in this crowd. I've spent a career finding and tacking "impossilbe" construction projects, academic undertakings and creating business opportunity. (Message edited by court on October 18, 2009) |

Hehehehehe . . . if I am ever on a boat and go overboard there are a couple of you folks I damn sure hope are not at the helm. . . . . your mind, just like a motorcycle, is subject to "target fixation". Keep your mind on the pile of crap in front of you and you'll damn sure hit it . . . Business is not much different. |

Court, May I ask what do you have to do with the situation?? That you could be inpart of this meeting with the chamber of commerce of East Troy and its community?? I suppose I look forward to sitting in on this meeting and disscussing. Come on Court. I live a close 40 miles from the Plant. I've seen some major company closing here in the past 8 months. Bombardier just knocked out 70% percent of its employees. Thats more then Buell. Case company let go twice that amount. Modine down to a half house and this is there headquarters. The only one here right now is Johnson Wax thats keeping well afloat. The city of Racine could do nothing about it and we are 120,000 strong. |

Dana, I was at the Boiler Room today and watched some of the packer's game. I saw you once just before halftime but you was so busy setting-up the buffet that I didn't want to bother you. I couldn't believe the you bar, there was only three cars in the parking lot when I got there and I didn't think you were open but I went to the door and the bar was damn near full. I was at the last table available in the very front. Are you going to the factory on Monday 10/21/09? |

Something has got to give. I've enjoyed my Buell far more than any other bike I have rode. I'd hate to see this... I never knew H/D owned Buell out right. Sucks... |
