I'm sorry if I offended. I have enjoyed riding my Buell as much as anyone. What I was attempting to convey is that at the end of the day it's the people that count. The ones whose drive and passion is reflected in the inanimate object.

Thanks to Lori, the rest of the Elves and Erik.

Lori- thanks for sharing. I think we as Buell owners are hurting just the same as Buell employees. The word Buell, whether addressing the man or the machine, seems to draw good people together. We, all of us, are in this together. We want ya'll to continue making the machines that move us and I think it's apparent that there is quite a few of us. I feel this isn't the end but the beginning of a new chapter in the book of Buell. Please tell everyone you work with that there are a ton of good folks out here that really, truly care about them and their jobs. Not only as Buell employees but Americans that have families and bills just like us. God speed.

Lori,

Thanks for coming here and posting your comments. It means a great deal to me and many of us here that you and the other "Elves" know of the outpouring of well wishes, frustration, and pure disgust we all feel for how BMC was treated by HD.

I've owned a lot of bikes, and my Buells are the ones that stirred my soul.

My hat goes off to you and all the Buell team. Today was unseasonably cool for a fall Tennessee day, but I took the time to spin some wrenches on my 1125CR. She needed a new rear tire. As my hands feel the metal, see how she's put together, and see the innovation and vision that was put into her, I know I have something very special....a Buell.

I'm hoping to make one more trip to the factory to say "thank you" in person. You all have given me some of the best times in my life.

Hey Lori,

Anyone gonna be at the bars in East Troy tonight?

I'm sitting at the McDonald's/Shell up the road near 43 right now posting this.

I stopped by since today is the only day I'd be able to snap some pics since I was only 40 miles away at Drill in Northern Illinois.

Also, I'm trying to find the mailbox, I have a couple of cards to leave.

I only own a Blast, but the design and effort the company put into my little bike has driven a passion for the company. Thank you and your coworkers for creating my little bit of happiness.

I promise to think of you when I'm jumping over curbs to avoid traffic tie-ups and lane-splitting at rush hour, not that I'd ever do anything like that.

No, thank you Lori

My first encounter with Buell was seeing the Pegasus logo scratching my head and wondering...

Years later I bought a Buell and haven't looked back..

I think the out pour on the Net has been from Buell and other motorcycle enthusiasts..

Keith Wandell has blood on his hands from killing Buell and motorcycle enthusiast buell and others are not pleased!

Prometheus stole fire from the Gods and gave it to mankind..

Zeus punished him by chaining him to a Rock and having a Eagle eat his insides, but he didn't die.

He had to endure it every day because he would heal at night...

He suffered until Heracles killed the Eagle and freed him..

Every time I ride my Funny little bike a fire burns inside me...

I wish you all the best, and I hope you all bounce back some how, we'll be there...

Lori, I will tell you, you will never see my Buell outside a therapist office! It was heart breaking to tell my baby the news, I thought she was leaking oil but it was actually a tear. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart, my prayers are with you.

Lori,
I’ve owned 7 bikes out of East Troy in the last 13 ½ years. I’ve been to the Factory 5 times and my heart aches for all the employees. I’m York employee for 21 years and could be in your shoes in the future. I have not owned a HD since I traded my Fatboy on a 1999 Thunderbolt. I will always be a Buell Fan, Owner and Rider.
Thank you.

Lori and TEAM BUELL!!!

I have owned 9 different.. The news was horrible and my heart and thanks goes out to all you Buell employees. I have had several issues taken care of by you long before HD would get involved.

I WILL very soon own another Buell...

Sometimes a picture can be worth a thousand words . . . . this one is likely worth more.

This was right after the ceremony for the 100,000th Buell. In most companies this ear-to-ear grin, the face beaming with pride would not be out of place following such a festive ceremony.

What made Lori and all the other Elves unique is that when I think of Lori, on any given day, under any amount of pressure . . . . this is the face I see in my mind's eye.

Buell, for years, has not so much been a mere "company" but a way of thinking, a lifestyle, a mindset.

No company in the world, no amount of automated machinery and no precision engineering can do a better job of building a perfect motorcycle than Lori B and her fellow Elves. In fact Lori's responsibility was to actively and aggressively LOOK for imperfect assembly. She's the best at what she does.

In addition . . . and this had been noted by some very large manufacturing concerns that have visited Buell trying to understand how humans can outdo robots at assembly . . . Lori, like all the Elves, OWNS each Buell made.

She can stop the line. She can walk right in Erik's office, call him at home or go to Flcik and say "I have a better idea". As long as any person is adhering to those Buell Values . . . each and every one of them has the power to, at any time, be the most important person in the building.

These folks own Buells, ride Buells and have a zeal for their jobs. Leaving Buell . . . as many of us can attest . . . takes none of that away. There are many of us "Sleeper Elves" around the world . . . who would be there in hours and work for free if our friends needed us. To this day, I am amazed at the calls and e-mails I still get from people at Buell. It's special to get pictures of their kids at Christmas and to hear about their lives. It really is a family.

I realize that spilling the beans on Lori and her fellow Elves may run the risk of getting me in trouble next time I see her . . . . . so . . . Lori . . . . if you are thinking about "outing" me . . . take a close look at THIS.

{

Now . . . . do you REALLY want to say anything bad about Court?

: )

Thanks for dropping by Lori. It's great to hear from someone who was and still is part of the amazing motorcycles that I own. Rest assured that your hard work and dedication live on. Regardless of what the future has in store for BMC and it's employees, there are thousands upon thousands of motorcycles on the road today that are a testament to all of you. For that, I thank you.

Just to satisfy my own curiosity, are you the young lady in the "History of Buell" video saying something to the effect of,
"Erik will back me up 100% of the time because what the customer wants matters"
?

Lori, like all of her fellow elves, ROCKS! It's more than a machine, it's a passion that is felt by every single one of them. We have been a close-knit family, a high performing team focused on one thing: Customers. This will hurt the most, knowing that we may never be together again, supporting this iconic brand and "living the dream" each and every day.

Lori,

I want to thank you and your co-workers for the work you have done over the years. The wife and I presently own three Buell motorcycles and can tell you we really love to go out and ride them. My Uly just turned four years old and with 47,000 miles, it has been the best motorcycle I have owned. As a person working in manufacturing my heart and prayers go out to you and your co-workers and all I can say is job well done.

Thank you Lori... You and the other Elves will be getting a Thank You letter from me and Ashley real soon (sent it out yesterday)
Thanks for the hard work, we've reaped the benefits with many trouble free miles on our Buells.
