Yesterday afternoon Budc called me at work and asked if I'd mind coming by Hals at 2:15 to be interviewed by the local FOX affiliate. So our 'lil part of our Buell ride group was interviewed.
I think they put a VERY good positive spin on an otherwise sad situation.
Nice! That woman speaking the corporate kool-aid line looked a little awkward and silly. They are so frigg*ng clueless and pathetic...
"why don't they move up to a Harley?" - the question. There are some fundamental problems with that phrase. There's an assumption that "moving-UP" is a stepping stone to something more desirable - the true final destination. So why aren't Buell riders moving up? It's actually opposite, they don't want to step down! Good luck HD and their farm equipment division that's losing market share while others are gaining.
Stepping down.... A couple of weeks ago a friend was visiting from Kansas, we went for a two day ride, me on the Uly, my buddy on my Sportster. On the second day we changed up bikes for a little while. Though it had a familiar feel, I am so ready to sell off the Sportster. It was cool for the few hours I was on it, but I could sadly tell, the love affair was over with the Sportster. It just was not the same anymore.
