Badweb, meet Silver! As far as I know, this XT was the last new Buell in Oklahoma. (big surprise there) Got a battery tender and this little piece of swag thrown into the deal.. It's 60* outside I'm going riding! (Message edited by pkforbes87 on October 16, 2009) |

Forman in Stillwater. They were very pleasant to do business with, but lacked any real knowledge of the bikes or their history. |

Every cloud has a silver lining. This is my silver lining And it'll gonna be fun to yell "Hi-Ho Silver, AWAY!" before a wheelie. (Message edited by pkforbes87 on October 16, 2009) |

pkforbs87.. I am surprised about your comment about forman not being very knowledgable. The service manager there rides an x-1. another in the service used to own an m2. Every time i needed help or advice they were VERY helpful.. Way better than the local dealer. Who did you deal with there?? one of the bonehead harley salesman. Tried to pull the trigger on new buell at the local dealer, best they could do was 6300.oo on a uly and 6395.oo on 1125cr.Woman said no. Called forman , said they were all gone. Anyhow congrats on your purchase (Message edited by tom_b on October 17, 2009) |

I did meet the service manager for a very brief time, not long enough to chat about much of anything Buell. Pretty cool that he has an X1 - as of the 15th he also has a white 09 25R! The employees that I spent the most time with was one salesperson and the parts staff. The parts staff claimed to not have an accessories book any later than summer 08, but the salesperson found one for me quickly after asking. That was my first issue - if your job is to sell parts, then you might need to know what parts are available and how your customer can research those parts to actually find out what they want to spend their money on. The XT didn't have the airflow covers installed when I bought it, and nobody at the dealer had noticed until I pointed it out. They initially wanted to charge me for them as an accessory until I pointed out that the book shows them as being stock on 08 and 09 X and XT models. Yet again - I was annoyed at the lack of knowledge about the bike. The salesperson told me that my XT had been on the floor since late last summer, yet in all of those months nobody noticed that it was missing parts? That lack of involvement and product knowledge is sub-par in my opinion. I was also told that the only reason they continued to carry Buell so long is because they want to service bikes that previous customers have purchased. They specifically said that they have carried the minimum required number of Buell models for the past few years due to their lack of desire to sell them. Like I said before though, the staff as a whole were very pleasant to do business with. They were very polite, and seem like good people offering good customer service. |
