Xbrad9r, how much do you want to bet I put more miles on my 'hog' than you did on your Buell this year?

To answer the question legitimately, I have heard it was because the Harley racing mascot years ago was a pig.

I'll counter to Jason as well, there's no such thing as winter here in Florida.

No idea how many miles Jason put on his hog this year, but living in Hawaii, I ride 365 days a year. I managed quite a few miles since getting my lightning.

Ferris is right...gonna be clear and in the 60's and 70's this weekend....me and Jezebel are going SOMEWHERE this weekend. : )

And I have no idea about where "Hogs" came from...my guess is that Froggy and Patches have it right.

I want to re-decal my top cover to "IS NOT a Harley" instead of "BUELL" (not my original cover..a used one).....

It was actually named hog because after the race the hog was set on the fuel tank and paraded around the track on the bike. This was done after the harley won the flat track races. becoming known as here comes the hog. which was the mascot of the racer. I believe this was actually started in 1952 but i may have the date wrong. so patches and froggy are both correct
I just added to the story.

Bought a Road Glide on May2, with 34691 on the odometer. Just went and checked, it is at 47250 as of this morning. BTW, I will be riding it to my Road Captain meeting this morning, chance of snow...

I am not saying I ride more than everyone, just more than most. My statement was directed back at Xbrad, no one else. I am an avid Buell fan, having owned 2 awesome tubers. I cannot ride Buell comfortably any more due to a degenerative disc condition in my back. I cannot afford to own a bike I don't ride, so my last Buell was sold as downpayment on the Glide. Do not mistake that I am slamming Buell. I made the comment in an effort to point out that there are Harley riders out there that do not buy into the chrome throne mentality.
