I spoke to Hal's myself. I trust Hal's and guy told me there were no such deals. I told him there was word on the net that there were 3000 - 5000 off and he told me there were no such order from Harley to throw away stock. If you got on for that deal, congrats, but I have trouble believing it and you don't need my belief to enjoy it. It seems way over the top. But if you did, run like hell man because that is a steal. |

*sigh* No, I mean, it's awesome. People have gotten exactly what they wished for. Great deals on Buells. To take a quote from a prior sponsor, "We Sell Buells Cheap". It's like that Monkey's Paw story, or that episode of X-Files when Mulder found a genie in a rug and wished for world peace and she irradicated humans. You get your wish, but in an evil-genie way. So do we jump into this fray and sell off our remaining buells at ridiculous prices? Very hard to continue to support the brand while selling bikes at a loss. Does that even matter anymore?? This is all very frustrating. |

WoW, I just saw the dealer website I purchased my CR from. They have taken down all Buell products and I called the store again and they changed their recording to just say HD and they have eliminated the Buell side..... So very sad... |

Now, lets save some more Buells. Save them from whom? Dealers who want to stay in business and make a profit? Is this a joke? You bought the bike for less than they paid for it, raved about how they sold out a bunch of their stock in like 2 hours, and now think it's sad that they're taking all references to Buell off their website and building and phone and everything? How can you say it's sad?? It's FREAKIN' WONDERFUL!!! Or was a few posts ago? I cannot wrap my head around this! |

I couldn't do it. Wow I can't believe that UKES of all dealers is pitching Buell in the trash as quick as they are. Makes me sick. |

Goes to show that Buell was never supported by most dealers. Why are people so surprised by the dealers? This is the American way. Hurts more when it affects your personally, doesn't it. I look at it this way....I'd rather the bike end up with some one that will respect and treasure it for what it is, than some squid trashing it. My plan? My son is 14. 2 years from now, he'll have a nice bike he can be proud to ride. |

Chellem, At 10am this morning when I found out about the Buell shutdown, I was physically sick. I wore my Buell hat to work with my Business Prof. attire in my very strick company, because I felt like I was in "morning". It was during the day that I struggled with what was going on. I have been a loyal Buell guy for 10 years and I felt like I needed to get rid of some of my other bikes to put a few Buells in the shed instead. I started searching around and found a few on this site that raised my eyebrow. I then started checking with the local dealers to see what kind of inventory they had. It was during these phone calls to the dealers that I realized they, at least the two I called hadn't been told about the Buell shutdown. I begin to work with on of the dealers on a 2004 xb12r used for $3995. At about 4pm the dealer called me back and told me that they had just slashed all the Buell by $5k and that they had 2 CR's for $4995. Man this pulled at my heart strings and my wallet. I wanted to own another Buell and this was to good to pass up. Upon arrival at the dealer they were proudly dispaying their Buell product line and merchandise. My point is, the only reason I purchased the Buell at this moment in time was due to HD shutting down Buell. The sad part is that a dealer who had been pro Buell for many years had in a matter of hours had pulled down all traces of the Product line. The irony is a bitch, i get it.... |

Chellem stay calm if they are fire selling the bikes they will do the same with the parts. You will get to service the customers in the future after the frauds are gone. |

I stayed calm all day. I'm running out of calm. All the words and pictures and links to these awesome prices from dealers who are abandoning the company hours after the demise - while the flesh is still warm, so to speak, is taking my calm from me. This is a portion of my livelihood. We've been trying to do the right thing for YEARS. We never claimed to be the cheapest, but we try to offer value for the price. We spend hours a day pricing things for people and we do a fair business. We stock more Buell clothing than any other dealership I've ever been to. We created an online store - with a built-in discount for BadWebbers - so that people can shop online if their dealer doesn't offer a selection of clothes. It's a LOT of work, and I've never minded working because I love you guys. I love Buells. I love Erik and this cohorts. This morning we found out that Buells are discontinued. And instead of bailing, like a bunch of other dealers are doing, we decide to stay loyal to the brand, to continue to support our customers as best we can, even if it means a lower profit. And now, to rub salt into an already bleeding ulcer, I have to look at pictures and links to websites of the other Buell dealers who are ditching the entire brand - who MAY OR MAY NOT EVEN BE SPONSORS OF THE BADWEB - rub all my effort and loyalty right in the smelly spot. And the people who are posting these links and pictures aren't even working at these dealerships - they're promoting them FOR FREE with the full knowledge that they won't have Buells in a matter of hours. So pardon me if I've lost a bit of my calm. I understand they're good deals. I understand that people are just trying to help fellow Buellers get a good deal. I'm a consumer in my regular life - I really do understand the attraction of a good deal. I don't see where it's written that I have to like it. ->ChelleM |
