The stockholders absolutely deserve an honest accounting of the reasoning behind this drastic abandonment of an entire portion of the motorcycle market and strange refusal to allow the sale of the company to interested parties. So true. The company belongs to the shareholders and not to the managers who are entrusted to run the company. Reminds me of the clowns in Washington. Shareholders have an absolute right to know why business decisions of this magnitude are being made and a voice in the process. |

Also, from seekingalpha.com: Harley Davidson CEO Keith Wandell said the return from the sale of an MV Agusta or Buell is far less than the return the company gets from a Harley Davidson, and that “we’re going to be able to grow the company more quickly ... by investing in the power of the Harley Davidson brand.” I'm telling you. HD is going to sell sport bikes under the Harley marque. Only a complete moron would continue to do things the old way . Will they succeed? who knows |

Ha, they think the sportbike critics gave Buell a hard time, wait till they slap the bar-n-shield on it. It'll be murder. ~SM |

I *might* say you are right von Bueller... but only if you think a Street Rod and an XR1200 are sport bikes. Harley could decide to try and make a sportbike, but the odds of them finishing it as a "sporty cruiser" are about 95%. They can't help themselves. |
