I just wanted to make it plain to the Buell family. I'd buy some stock or put in a down payment right now. I believe in the dream, the man and the mission. You guys were there and this isn't right. I felt there were others that agree and it deserved it's own thread. So that's my .02 cuz I know people of importance read this board too. |

Problem is, there aren't any Buell shares. Buell is a division of HD that has ceased operating. I can't imagine why no effort was made to sell it. Maybe there was. |

If there were shares. I'd buy them. If I were rich. I'd approach Harley and see if a deal could be struck. I believe in Buell. |

But there could be, maybe under another name, but still the same team. EB is a fighter and I hope that hasn't changed. |

Buell stock would be a quick purchase for me. Wonder if the internet would have been around years ago and a grass roots type stock selling happened if Buell would have even had to go to HD. Oh well. |

"What about the dozen guys that bought H-D back from AMF?.... Can history repeat itself? A conglomerate of enthusiasts and a few lawyers buy the damn thing outta hauck?> In for a penny, in for a 396 pounds." That kind of thought has been on my mind a bit today. Could it be possible in some way? Correct me if I'm wrong, but there are still a reasonable amount of H-D parts in the XB's, and the XB motors are assembled at an H-D plant, and this is the kind of business H-D wants to get away from. The 1125's would seem to be a different kettle of fish... Would it be possible for a consortium to be formed that could negotiate a deal with H-D that would include: Buying/leasing the East Troy facility and plant, Rights or license to patents, and Renegotiating supplier contracts (including Rotax) to continue manufacture and development of the 1125 series? I'm not saying it's easy, but would it be possible? (Maybe it's too early to say?) If it's possible I'd invest in it. |

There are a couple of good posts in the related thread in "Court in Session" by Doerman; first one here: http://www.badweatherbikers.com/cgibin/discus/show .cgi?tpc=17&post=1606370#POST1606370 He appears to understand the business-speak better than most of us, and he seems to be saying something like Lemonchili_X1 proposes is very possible. Let's hope so. |

When your boss puts your stuff in a box for you to pick up when you arrive in the morning, pick it up & move on. I don't believe Erik should have any interest in furthering or maintaining his relationship with HD. Regardless of our opinions that it was a bad move, at this point I would be hard pressed to accept any "I'm sorry, seems this was an unpopular move, please come back?" offers. I doubt any would be extended anyway. I don't know Erik, but I know my trepidation to walk the plank would have changed over 20 years. Staying with the mothership to design chrome tassels has safety written all over it, but I'd hate the days from the moment I put my key into the ignition in the morning. All things considered, I imagine his willingness to step out on his own again is much higher than mine. I'd like to believe that I have a few things in common with Erik. By a curse of nature, I'm an engineer. I drive past my exit on highways when I get a design idea in my head. I've got hundreds of sheets of paper with little inventions & ideas scribbled on them. I have, on occassion, put myself to sleep at night re-reading "Mechanisms & Dynamics of Machinery". If I had to guess, somewhere in Erik's house, barn, office, or workshop, there is a similar pile of unfulfilled ideas. Now the road ahead for Erik is his to choose, and I'm sure that the factors affecting his decisions are intensely more complex than I could know. However: Erik, should you choose to rebuild, count me in. I'll invest what I can, even if its only enough to buy the new factory's coffee machine. 5,000 Buellers and 100 bucks might not buy the old factory, it might not even be enough to represent a nice gesture, I just don't know enough about the business to say. But it would be a start... |

Count me in too. I don't have a bunch of money, but being a network engineer and IT Manager for over two decades, I'd be more than happy to coordinate and manage the setup of your IT infrastructure. |

When HD went public in 1984 if I remember correctly. If not some please correct me. I know some one will. the IPO was $18.75 I bought a handful through many splits I had enough to by an Electra Glide. I didn't because I didn't want to pay taxes on the gains. I will If Buell decides to do something and goes public I will be one of first to try another hand full help go for the gold. |

I'm In ! I chose a Buell cause it was American made and diffrent, just like me ! I don't believe in much, God, a good family, and never never ever give up !! What do we have to loose, If we focus on the dollars the millions will follow. What ever happens, we need to be ready and willing to follow the master plan who ever comes up with it ! |
