Anything you can buy aftermarket that keeps the money out of HD hands is the way we need to go. I still need to get 2 or 3 more parts from a dealer to make my crashed 1125r perfect, but after that I'll get anything I can aftermarket, even if it costs more. |

Keep in mind that the people who made this decision could care less if you spend your money with HD or not. The only people you are hurting by not buying from the dealers who are still supporting the brand are the dealers who are passionate about Buell, and remaining Buell dealers to support you. Yes, support the other guys too, but support those dealers who are there for you should you need them even if they do have an HD sign out front. |

There are people that built there lives and businesses around Buell (Al at American Sport Bike and others). The dealers didn't. |

Don't get me wrong. I am not saying not to support Al (as I just ordered some stuff from him last week), but going out of your way to try to "hurt" HD by not buying from your local dealer (or any dealer who is still supporting the brand) will eventually cause you and the rest of us pain. I just bought a new CR, and I want my local Buell dealer around for a few years. |

The Buell dealer around here acts as if Buell is a thorn in there side. I think if Buell would have let the dealers that initially had them get them back they probably would have sold more. Also HD from what i am told pulls advertising money away from dealers if they are advertised as a HD-Buell dealership. SO maybe HD death grip will be released from Buell and they can produce what they want... |

Assuming HD gives Erik and company the rights to do so. As it stands, the brand has been squashed. No more Buell anything. HD isn't selling it...just putting it through the shredder. They even paid off Rotax for the 1125 development cost. |

I understand that you all are pissed at H-D. But what did *I* ever do to you to have you essentially hope we go out of business? I and my dealership, and several other dealers who still consider themselves to be BUELL dealers, no matter WHAT H-D might call us, are out here trying to continue to support the brand, and you're going to make sure you keep money out of H-D, i.e., via the dealerships? Times are tough all over, and you can order your parts from whomever you see fit. I know there are a lot of aftermarket places to buy your parts from. But not supporting the dealers who are still trying to support Buell is only going to convince them that they're making a bad financial decision by sticking it out. Ultimately, kinda self defeating. Just my $.02, from a BUELL dealer perspective. |

I am peed off like the rest. But I believe we should support the dealers that have supported Buell over the years. Also, we will need spare parts for years to come. By law HD will have to provide parts for X number of years. They do not have to make it easy for us. I personally would rather have HD make money from the parts and continue support for many years. The alternative will be a motorcycle shaped door stop. I do not want my 08XT to be a Sunday only cruiser. I still want to use it for touring and long rides as originally purchased. Now is the time to support those that have supported us. Tim S. |

What choice do I have to make my displeasure with Buell known? HD just proved that it's all about the mighty dollar, and every penny spent ends up in Milwaukee. I'll buy what I need from dealers, but like I said in another thread some where I can't stomach that my money is going to HD credit now. I can't see this chip on my shoulder getting better, and I'll probably sell my 1125r and get something else. My local dealer is also a Honda dealer, so maybe I'll check them out. support the dealer and a mfg that gives a shit, everyone wins! |

My perspective on this topic is that if Buell is no longer producing anything...the stuff that is out has been paid for already. What's done is done. You would be hurting your local dealer, but they had not one vote nor clue(as far as I can tell) in the events of Buell Motor Company. You would also be hurting yourself in denying yourself the product and yes the brand that has made you so passionate. Keep in mind that you have signed up to be a Bad Weather Biker, not a Fair Weather supporter. You know better than that. You will vent a bit and then hopefully you will remember why you ride and enjoy what you have. If you want another bike, then buy it, but don't think you are injuring a corporation as large as HD. Do it because you want to, otherwise you are being controlled by the very company you claim to despise. Anyway, I will hush now. You will do what you think is best and I hope it will be best for you and you will be happy. |
