I know I won't be purchasing the Street Glide I wanted in a few years now. So, that's one new bike sale they lost, plus the ones I'd be buying in the future. If I get a cruiser now, it looks like it's going to be from Victory. |

I understand business is business. And we have yet to see what HD will allow the elves to do now. So I should be pragmatic. But, at this moment, not only would I never consider buying an HD anything, but I'm not really interested in defending them to my riding friends either. Lots of people ask me about getting into the sport... if an HD bike would be a good fit for them, I recommend it. Or if somebody starts trashing HD's as a brand, I'll generally have a little polite conversation to bring a little balance back as to what the strengths of a HD bike are. Now. Not-so-much. :/ |

I can't think of another bike I can actually afford that I'd rather be riding besides my 1125CR. My heart and prayers are with Erik and the employees. I hope this turns out to be a positive thing in the end. I wish there was something we could all do to show our support. I wish I knew someone who had enough cash to buy the company, I'd be doing one hell of a sales pitch right now. |

I have had both a Buell and Harley until my recent job lose resulted in their being returned to the financiers. In my current mood I do not expect to purchase another HD product. In fact I am about ready to sell any and all Harley branded merchandise I have on eBay. I was looking forward to eventually getting another Buell in the future. |

I was planning to visit a dealer today to look at some bikes and talk prices. Would've liked to have 2-3 buells. As confused as anyone right now. Only hd I seriously considered was the xr1200. Still the only one i'd consider but I will keep a hard line on what I'll spend my limited funds on. I have to watch my bottom line as well. |

... but HD gave this co a chance to make it, if not for HD, you're Buell experience would have been almost nonexistent. To the second part of that... Yes, you are correct. To the first part of that... Not really. HD did not let the Buell line try to make it outside of their show rooms, and in that respect probably lost a lot of potential business. Under normal circumstances, people don't go into an HD dealership to purchase a sport bike, they go to a sportbike dealer. Had HD allowed Buell to be more independent (ie. Independent Buell Dealers, or multi manufacturer type dealers) I think they would have been in a much stronger position. These are of course just my humble opinions though.} (Message edited by RATyson on October 15, 2009) |

>>>Based on quarterly reports, I'm pretty sure Buell was doing better than most, if not all, of their competitors from a profit/loss standpoint, % unit sales, etc. That is accurate. |
