Just an update for you all on our life status-bones and all...It seems that good luck comes in runs, and unfortunatley so does the bad. The house renovations we started five or six weeks ago have now come to fruition as far as the builders go. A few of you have been following it all on Facebook, and it has certainly come together quickly from scratch. The builder has done a fantastic job, and tried to keep costs down for us in a few small ways too. Everything is now ready for us to go ahead with painting, inside and out. At a glance, it's gone from this...(front and back)
to this...(front, back and deck)
As a builder he was great, but unfortunately that was where his only responsibility lay when it came to having two dogs around the house...doh! Not paying attention one day, they walked out an open gate and went for a wander up our street...and that's where the trouble started! $150 later they returned home in the back of Chili's truck from the shelter looking very pleased with themselves.
Three weeks later we recieve a fine in the mail from the council to the tune of $400 for 'wandering dog' infringement. Of course the builder denies all responsibility. Nice. Now normally this would be cause for a little anger and frustration, but in the light of the fact that the vet has told us that my Rotty needs an operation in the next 3 weeks (costing about $2.5k) or he may never walk again...it was a bit much. On top of this, my Lemonchili comes home yesterday red-faced with not only a defective vehicle breach for X (mudguard), but a parking fine AND a speeding fine-another $390-thanks for coming!!! (although I did think it kind of rocked that he was done for 27km over the zone limit ) So, we are strung to the end of our financial limits and frustration is peaking. If the builders are not gone tomorrow I may not be able to be held sanely responsible for my actions!!!! |

Hang in there girl you too Lemonchili. I'm glad your little ones came home safe and sorry to hear about your Rotty. My old girl Dixie has hip problems too and she is getting worse. Your new addition looks beautiful! And they always say "these times too shall pass." |

sorry to hear about the bad week vamp and chili, especially with the rott. it's times like this that can either drive you insane or make you stronger. if it was me, i would have had a couple of beers and just give a big sigh of relief and hope that was it for a while. |

Wild Turkey seems to work ok It's been a very up and down week for us, but nothing as bad as it's been for some . We have plenty to look forward to, others have uncertainty ahead but I hope not for too long. |

So did you guys just buy it, I wasn't sure from the for sale in the first pic? Looks like plenty of good room to work on the bikes. |

A similar(dog story)happened to us. Wes went to court over it and got the fines reduced dramatically. You might make some calls and see what can be done. |
