Court, Dave and the rest of the "Buell Elders" I just had a quick question...
Has Buell ever done a televised commercial? I know many motorcycle makers only air advertisements during target audience events like AMA Racing, WSBK, IOMTT, etc... and I have seen some of their stuff. But, did Buell ever air a commercial on national television?
If they haven't, has it been considered? Imagine how cool a few shots of the 1125r would be with Danny carrying the American flag at VIR? Just wanted to get some input on it. I think it would be awesome! Granted, I'm not the one paying for it, and I don't know if that sort of an approach would help.
*Why haven't I seen these commercials on national television.
I have seen these at the dealerships before playing over and over again with a mix of other stuff but I have never sat down and turned on Speed TV and seen one of these air... Granted I may have missed them, I was just curious to see if there was an active advertisement campaign for national television.
Thanks for posting these though! I hadn't seen the second one with roadway that says MINE.... lol
I cannot imagine how much it is to run an ad on national television. Let alone trying to balance the target audience and slots for ratings. It would be really cool to see one on occasion though right after a Chevy, Ford, etc commercial... wishful thinking I guess.
TV is Broadcasting. Buell does not need to Broadcast. It needs to narrowcast. They need to find a concentrated area that has their market and attack. IMHO TV audiences are not high concentrations of potential Buell owners. For B.M.C., TV is a waste of limited advertising funds.
The pace bikes @ the AMA race was a cheaper more effective form of advertising.
Especially seeing a Uly scraping pegs and running down the superbikes @ VIR.
Buell seems to be better at getting bikes on TV then commercials. There was a firebolt or 1125 on the forgotten network the other night, and they seem to pop up in other shows. Any one know how this type of product placement works?
