Share with us some of those things he's done LOL... I think Saturday Night Live summed that one up pretty well I don't hate the guy.... just a strong dislike.... same goes for Bush. I am a Dem who owns guns, believes in the death penalty, loves our troops, I also believe abortion should be legal (free will is a bitch, if gays want to get married so be it(I'm not God not my place to tell them NO), oh and I also believe that we should try diplomacy first if that fails there is always the big stick. Darkside, sounds like we'd get along fine, except for the pot and gay marriage thing, if something is wrong we sometimes have to remind one another, whether we are God or not we should still be able to distinguish right from wrong. It's wrong to give a prize to someone who has not yet done anything. Definitely a political statement by the committee. It's unfortunate that the world is so intent on tearing down the rewards for real effort. I wonder what it takes to get an A in class these days? Regardless if you like Obama or not he did not apply for the award. It was given to him by a committee who's reasons they have stated and likely motives I commented on previously. You can't hold it against him personally that they selected him at this time. I'm sure that if he had a choice it would have better closer to the end of his term when he is running for reelection. | ||

I can tell you why. Here's a direct quote in reference to the Nobel Prize award: "Announced just hours earlier, the stunning decision, said Nobel officials, was meant to encourage his initiatives to reduce nuclear arms, ease tensions with the Muslim world and stress diplomacy and cooperation rather than unilateralism." This quote was taken from ultra liberal MSNBC. I also heard a radio news story this morning citing that Obama has agreed to make working with the Taliban part of his exit strategy from Afghanistan. I think Bin Laden is happy as a clam. Can you imagine the delight he'll have when he can come out from under the rock he's hiding and not have to worry about getting captured or shot? | ||

Any guess as to the deadline on the decision on WHO would be winning the NPP? February 1st. Inauguration was on January 20th. Please, someone, explain what Obama did in 12 days that justify this award. Or. Please, someone, explain why anyone should hold the NPP as anything but a joke. | ||

I never said that, but being a true liberal, you jump to conclusions that aren't true. Is Bin Laden a Muslim? Does that FAKE photo I posted look like Obama is trying to "ease tensions with the Muslim world"? That's the point I was making. Trying to brand me as a wacko is a great technique. How should we interpret a decision by Obama when asked by his generals on the ground for 30-40,000 more troops to finish the job that they would be given 10,000. We haven't had an answer yet, but that looks to be the direction Obama is heading. Plus, the decision must be made soon in order for them to be in the field at the beginning of "campaign season" in the spring. If the generals aren't given the troops until much later in the season, they do no good. The including of the Taliban into negotiations? Really? The folks who sponsored, harbored, and aided Al Quaeda are now going to be instrumental in defeating Al Quaeda? Why don't we just walk off the field of battle and go home. Given that, Osama CAN leave his cave without worrying about being shot. | ||
