Buffalo brand Chipotle sauce. Smokey, hot, full of flavor. The real Mexican deal. You can also make your own with canned Chipotle en adobo as the base. Available in the specialty foods section of most supermarkets.

Yeah the Buffalo Chipotle is good. Tabasco's version is also very good. I haven't met a chipotle hot sauce that I don't like.

Jaimec; if you like Wango Tango sauce, then you should try some of the Dinosaur's Devil's Duel hot sauce.
Dana; if you want to let me try some of your hot salsa, I'd be happy to taste it.

I love hot sauces.. But I like flavor along with my heat : )

http://www.grandpaeddiesauce.com/index.html

we've become quite fond of grandpa eddies Jamaican Jerk Sauce. The first 4 ingredients Are Pimento, Nutmeg, cinnamon, scotch bonnets.

We marinate shrimp it it for 2 hours and then grill them on skewers, they are awesome We marinated chicken in it over night once and it was a bit on the hot side (and we like hot.)

hello everyone, my name is neil and i'm a sadist and i can't help myself. i love hot foods. although, if that pepper is as nasty as that guy made it out to be, i don't want nothing of that sucker. i like to have some taste with it also. quiznos had batch 81 which had a good taste to it and sticky finger habenaro sauce isn't to bad.

i like to use red pepper on a lot of stuff and tend to put a decent hot salsa on my salad all the time. this way it cuts down on the use of salad dressing. something to think about if your in the food business. cause salsa has everything. especially a fresh salsa.

I'm a hot sauce junkie, one entire door shelf in the fridge is filled with them.

As do I. From your simple Texas Pete to an unlabeled bottle of a home brew that a guy I use to work with makes. Has to be the hottest I've ever tasted. It literaly waters your eyes just to get the open bottle close to you nose.

Sriracha is awesome!

Speaking of Jerk, I cooked up 5lbs of chicken thighs tonight that marinated in a Jerk sauce from Jamaica. Wasn't very hot, but good flavor (plus they were grilled over hardwood charcoal).
I also cooked up some "Rice 'n Peas" that turned out VERY good, though I had to make it mild and leave out the pepper.

SIMPLE RICE AND PEAS RECIPE

INGREDIENTS:

Serves: 4-5

1 medium sized can red kidney beans
1 can coconut milk
2 cups of rice
1 small onion, chopped
1 clove garlic, chopped
1/4 teaspoon dried thyme
1 table spoon oil
1 scotch bonnet pepper (whole, do not chop up)
water

Drain the liquid from the can of beans into a measuring cup and add the can of coconut milk and enough water to make four cups of liquid. Place liquids in a pot with beans, onions, garlic, thyme and oil, bring to a boil. Add rice and stir for a minute. Reduce heat to Medium-Low. Place scotch bonnet pepper on top of liquid and cover tightly for 30 minutes or until rice is cooked. Remove scotch bonnet pepper before serving.

it takes alot to make me go "holy $#*!" when i eat something thats supposed to be hot. i love spicy hot foods and seasonings. but there is this bar in wisconsin we stop at on our snowmobile trips, that has home made horseradish in a mild(very very warm) or there hot. they refuse to let you try it if you have any health problems. it literally knocks the breath out of your lungs. you can not breath or see shortly after you eat it.

last time we were in there i put some of the warm on a pretzel and my friend watched me eat that stuff. he likes spicy food also and after seeing how much my eyes watered from it, he asked me which version i had just tried. me being a great friend, told him it was the hot stuff and he should probably just stick with the stuff in the other container. well the pretzels are bite sized ones and he just coats this thing with what is actually the hot horseradish. eats the whole pretzel at once, and very shortly there after is curled up on the floor cause he cant see or breath for a minute. once i decided he was going to survive it i just laughed my ass off at him(and yes i have tried the hot plenty of times.)

the regulars in the bar always tell all the newbies that they should try the horseradish as they come in for a drink. it makes for some good entertainment!

Bikertrash05 and others: If you like the flavor of Melinda's but want a little more heat, try Mezzetta California hot sauce. It's a mix of California chilis and habaneros, and it's mmm-mmm-good.

Poppa Rick's (no longer there, but used to be on Jericho Turnpike on the Woodbury/Huntington border) used to carry that sauce. It was pretty good on their pulled pork sandwiches!

We accidentally found a really neat little BBQ joint this past weekend in Watertown, MA. I wish I could remember the name. Anyway, we couldn't resist an eating establishment that had a sign that read: "Get In Here And Eat."

They had an interesting hot sauce that was primarily habanero peppers in vinegar. It went very well on my collard greens. The owner was from Long Island, and he wore a monocle. Anyone here familiar with the place?

Bads1,

Yeah the serrano's are hot; especially if you grow them in dry soil like I do. I make sure all of the other peppers get plenty of water but I ration the water on the serrano's to hot em up! I usually dehydrate them and then grind them for sprinkling my food.

Try roasting some of your sweet banana peppers on a barbecue, cool them in a large plastic bag along with some damp paper towels, then peel, vacuum pack in Food Saver bags and freeze for your Mexican dishes. Mmmmmmm good!

Jaime; I've never eaten there. However, Watertown is very close to Somerville, and Redbones in Davis Square is one of my favorite BBQ joints anywhere. The food quality is on a par with the Dinosaur, and the portions are generous.
