Totally stupid mucho dinero. And some odd engineering. That is fixable, but so far they have resisted. How French... |

Peter Egan wrote a short piece on one of the early prototypes in 2007 (?). Certainly a good looking bike, but so are most Buell Tubers, in by opinion. |

Listed as 28,000 Euro. That's only about $41,000 USD. I'd rather have both a 1198 and a Street Fighter. Beautiful bike though. |

Neat bikes but in that price range their market is much smaller. Guess S&S is charging a fortune for those engines. |

The exchange rate is also not doing us any favors. |

Even at a dead even exchange, it still costs too much. $28k for that? It's gorgeous, yeah, but not THAT gorgeous. I don't need attention that bad. ~SM |

No fan needed: no bodywork over the rear cyl either. 6 of one, half dozen... |

It's gorgeous, yeah, but not THAT gorgeous. Yeah, but 120 hp and 120 tq from the factory! |

Hardly anything to brag about. That S&S platform is easily capable of 140/140 at the wheel. With a modest CR of 9.9:1 and a set of reasonable cams. Reliable as an anvil. Why, yes, I DO have one of those, thank you. Just not in a Wakan. |

Perhaps, but the fact of the matter is that Buell only masters up 103 hp and 84 tq from their air cooled motors.... I can imagine that the Wakan is a blast to ride with 50% more torque! |

103 HP from 74 CI vs. 120 from 100 CI. If it were in the same tune as an XB, it would have 139 HP by the 100/74 ratio. Erik done good for the price he charges. |

Eric has a cost effective product now, but when he first started out RR1200's and RS1200's were $11000 to $13000. I'm not sure what that computes to in todays dollars but probably a lot closer to the Wakan than we would like to think. |

If you like Wakan, check out Ecosse. 1966cc would be fun Unfortunately, they're only tuned for 130rwhp/137tq from Ecosse. http://www.ecossemoto.com/index.htm |

Those are cool too. Just had to find something to make the Wakan look cheaply priced. How about the titanium series? 200hp 200ft-lbs |

Interesting, Ecosse, a bike built in the US with the name being Scotland, in French. How very cosmopolitan. I don't think you get these in the US, www.voxan.com damn nice bikes though. Couldn't find a website in English I'm afraid. |

Very Ducati-ish.....nice. Might sell here, but would be awfully pricey by the time you loaded on the costs of DOT/EPA certs, given that you might sell a hundred or so annually. |

BAD ASS Bikes in my book!! Above are a few pics from a customer of mine over in France. He traded his XB in on one and loves it! Top review here..http://www.xblights.net/reviews.html At over 40K it is pricey...but sure looks sweet! |

That S&S engine could be the perfect air cooled departure from Harley-Davidson. Belt drive camms too, right? Do you have to replace the belts every two years or 12k miles too?Seriously,Erik could say Buh-bye to the constraints of H/D Oh yeah, beautiful bike that there Wakan.Just say NO to boring Jap-crappers |
