Guys, I ordered a few parts at my dealer (a couple of screws, a white flyscreen and a airbox trim) and it is taking days and weeks to have those parts delivered. I never had issues with leadtimes, I always got parts in a matter of days ... Are this delay due to buell shutting down for a while as I read a few days/weeks ago?? |

From what I understand, the plant is not going to shut down until Oct. 30th .... So that shouldn't be the problem |

I just got a RSS that took a week to deliver. Not bad at all IMO. |

In mid Sept I ordered a set of saddlebags for my sons Firebolt. They told me not to expect delivery until after 10/30. |

I think the problem is not with the dealers (mine got me many parts in days and I do know they ordered those last parts as always). Maybe some supliers of buell are just late. |

>> Talk to your dealer. +1 The closest Buell dealer to me only orders parts every 3 to 4 weeks so I go usually go elsewhere if their ordering schedule doesn't fit my needs. |

Is it true that the dealers have to pay shipping on the parts? And that's why they don't want to order just one or two items and wait for a large order to save on shipping? It would make sense. Maybe if you offer to pay part of the shipping they would get it sooner. Then again what do I know I just buy everything from Al at American Sport Bike and get it sent to me that day... |

They said screws will be in this week (ordered 10days ago), airbox al trim is on backorder and will pop in in one week while the flyscreen will take three weeks. That sounded odd as I got many spares from them and longest lead time has been one week, usually I have the parts in 3 days. |

Body parts are "made to order" so to speak. It can take up a to a month to get a non-current color. |

That dealer (if they are who I think they are) doesn't feel a lot of urgency when they order parts... at least that was the case the couple of times I dealt with them. Nice folks though. The Dayton one will move faster, but thats a pretty long drive for you. A board sponsor might be able to have one in your mailbox sooner then that dealer will have them on their shelf... |
