Ok, looks like it time for sequel to "The Riding Game". This time i'm looking for cool and unusual pic's.. Nothing Photoshop, or your everyday viral pic's you see all the time. Make it something new, in you own collection, or something cool and unusual! Bonus points for describing what it is and or what it means to you! That being said, i will start!! By no means is this thread Political, but i thought i'd start with this one..... Chinese artist Chen Wenling critiques the global financial crisis in What You See Might Not Be Real, on display at a Beijing gallery. The bull is said to represent Wall Street, while the man pinned to the wall represents jailed financier Bernard Madoff. (Message edited by americanmadexb on September 30, 2009) |

Thats cool! Well, not for you at the time, but interesting. I'm going to do the same thing with my gear from my recent accident. Going to hang everything on the garage wall! |

Here are some from my own collection, all original work: This was taken on the shore of Sacandaga Lake in the Adirondack Mountains. I just like the motion shown from my buddy walking away from the bikes... I took this photo around 11:00pm from a cruise ship in the Caribbean. Needless to say, it was pitch black - what you're seeing in terms of light is lightning going off inside the cloud. I tried for a bunch like this and this one was the best I could muster... I was in NYC for work, just walked out of a bar getting tanked by myself (girl problems back home, lol) and saw this - Empire State Building with white lights in the fog. I stumbled back to my hotel room, grabbed my camera and steadied myself against some scaffolding since the shutter was open for a few seconds on this one... Just a simple night shot of downtown Niagara Falls, Ontario. Notice the people crossing the street... I have a few like this, but this was my favorite of the giant ferris wheel in Niagara Falls - I just really dig the black on white contrast... And finally, a night shot of the beach in the Dominican Republic with a storm heading in - note the palm trees...

Suspicious looking sky, I kept watching to see if a funnel was going to form; very out of the ordinary for Idaho (Ashton) July of this year.

a little cottage shop a few miles from home has a quirky collection of things.

I like the out of focus service manual in this one, which was purely accidental. It was taken while replacing intake gaskets in the hotel parking lot during the 25th This one was taken at the Big 12 Championship game in 06. An old friend from high school. Awesome guy! A cool motion effect.. this one was also accidental. Taken at Cycle Connection in Joplin, MO this past March. I thought the painting given to Erik was pretty cool. Taken at Quaker Steak & Lube in Council Bluffs, IA. |

Still my favorite photograph of all time - Dali Atomicus by Philippe Halsman, done the old-fashioned way, way before Photoshop.
The bucket of water and the cats were thrown on the count of 3 and Salvador Dali jumped on the count of 4. "Six hours and twenty-eight throws later, the result satisfied my striving for perfection. My assistants and I were wet, dirty, and near complete exhaustion—only the cats still looked like new." - Philippe Halsman |
