Finally got the P229, had it at my desk so I snapped a pic. Remembered Barker's previous post and thought I'd pigtail off that. Gun, case, three magazines, and a holster for $375. Not a bad price. Haven't made it to the range yet to fire it but am looking forward to it. Bought 100 rounds last night at Dicks. |

BTW- nice wallpaper. Royal Hudson? Don't know, it has 2839 and Southern Railway on the front of it. That was the last passenger train to come through our town in, I believe, '79. The man farthest to the left holding the toddler is my father, the toddler, my brother, is now almost 32y.o. My grandparents can also be seen in the picture. My grandmother and I rode it to Ashland, Ky. to see her sister. I happened upon the picture by chance. My boss has a calendar of old trains coming through our town and this happened to be in it so I scanned it and now use it as my wallpaper. Hammer, thanks I will locktite these, or the ones I end up with. I'm going to get some time with it and then decide which grips I want to put on it. |

Kyrocket- Yep, that's a Royal Hudson; that particular engine was used by the Southern Railway for a few years on passenger excursion trains. I rode behind it in 1978 from Charlotte, NC to Columbia, SC. That's cool that you have your family in the photo. 2839 is on display and supposedly undergoing restoration in California right now. There are a few others still in existence; more info here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Royal_Hudson Oh yea, nice pistol. |
