I really like the Kawasaki Versys. It's a neat all-rounder, and a bit quirky looking. I thought it might be fun to "naked it up" a bit and see how it looked. Result:
I like it! Basically just wiped out the windshield, mirrors, and rear fender, and added some Rizoma bar end mirrors. Some lower bars would probably look cool, but couldn't find a good picture to work with. ~SM |

ER-6n? Ugly name for a bike, but I'd do her. |

I actually came THAT close to buying an ER6...but it had no character...besides...it's heavier than a Lightning, has less power...and I got Jezebel for less money And it makes my lady friend squirm when she rides with me. She says the seat isn't that comfy, but it's not a problem |

Ha, that's pretty funny! As much as the Buell crowd gripes about our headlights, seems like they're a pretty popular mod for the imports! I just discovered the ER-6N yesterday. Cool looking bike, but compared to a Lightning, Buell is the obvious choice. Buell has twice the displacement, but it also has twice the torque, and it's easier to maintain, with equal fuel economy. You'd have to REALLY want a Jap bike to choose it over an XB. ~SM |

I really liked the Versys as well until I rode one. The pegs ever so conveniently dug right into my calves at a stop. |

Yes, it's kind of interesting them taking the Buell parts and using them on the V. The bike has a real uncomfortable seat, which is how I found out about them.
The price on the Versys are $7k and under for new, which is a great price point. Buell is just not in the price market, which I don't blame them. It's a lot of bike for that little money. |

The versys is WAAAAY better without the goofy bug screen and headlight combo - put a Blast/Tuber standard headlight like on Gowindward's nekkid pictures above, strip id down, and it looks tough. I think I'll look at taking off the bugscreen from my Blast, and raising up the headlight. Gonna make me wish my Blast were black..... :-( |
