This is an australian ebay link (yes I have resisted the almost uncontrollable urge to rick roll). Something just doen't seem to fit though? He wants a ridiculous price for this thing, which by all accounts, doesn't really look that much better mechanically than standard. Sure there are a few mods, but most of it looks cosmetic. And if you look (past all the shiny bits) closely at the headers, they look a little...crushed? What do you think?? http://cgi.ebay.com.au/XB12R-Buell-Firebolt-04-88c ube-25K-spent-on-bike_W0QQitemZ320421756792QQcmdZV iewItemQQptZAU_Motorcycles?hash=item4a9a9fff78&_tr ksid=p3286.c0.m14 |

Nothing amiss, my dear, nothing at all. The headers are not "squished" they are Micron variable section headers. They were made like that. Supposedly improves performance. As for the price, it is simply another delusional seller who has wasted a fortune on his bike, ($25K by his own reckoning), who is hoping there is a greater fool out there, who will give him a $5K profit. Personally, I wouldn't bet on it. Or maybe his wife said "sell that thing", he says "ok, I'll put it on eBay". Then he says, " well I tried dear, but the market is so bad, no one even bid on it". And that's the great thing about the free market: all hopes and desires are moderated by the price mechanism.

" $5K profit. " To be fair, $25K in mods + $15K price of new bike = $40K, so selling for $30K wouldn't yield a profit. It's not a crazy price, but it's tough to sell unless someone is looking for exactly what he is offering, and then there is the issue of trusting that the engine work is quality. |

I think Vamp wants to sit on something with a better "vibe" than her Kawi...yes? I don't know about there, but it is high for the market here, you cannot get that much money for customizing or upgrading a Buell. But keep on looking my dear you'll find the one yet. |

Hhhmmm...yes, or when the time is right, it will find me. A pretty little cyclone came a'knockin on the door a while back, but unfortunately the renovations are still under way, so I had to turn her away. There's a few nice bikes up for grabs, but aside from all the "ooh shiny" factor, this particular bike is not on my list of desires. To quote a line from the Oz flick 'The Castle'..."tell him he's dreeamin!" |
