Greg Holman Memorial Ride Please join for a weekend of riding, kinship and memories. In honor of our fallen friend a group ride has been organized to honor Greg, who had as big a passion for motorcycles as he did for life. He left us much too soon, so please take some time to ride and enjoy. Sept. 18 to the Mississippi River area. The ride on Sept. 18 to the Mississippi River area. The L&M Motel (www.1-mmotel.com) in Savanna Illinois will be the Friday night stop. It is a biker themed motel. There is a Motel 6 or Super 8 there too. Everyone is on their own to meet there Friday night. The plan is to arrive early enough to go to a biker place called Poopy’s to eat. (www.poopys.com) Saturday the idea is to ride to Anamosa Iowa to the motorcycle museum and/or J&P Cycle, then ride the road along the Mississippi River to Prairie De Chien and cross over the river. Then ride to Dubuque for the Saturday night. Sunday ride to Galena for breakfast, then head back home. (Message edited by rocketsprink on September 09, 2009) | ||

Rocketsprink, Keep us posted on how this ride develops!! You'll be riding into my neck of the woods if you're going to the museum which is well worth the trip, BTW. Maybe I can scare up some friend to ride down and meet you guys. | ||

Poopys is a fun place for a biker hangout. The food is excellent! We were just down to Galena a few months ago and our group went there for dinner. Bikers, families with kids, bikers(the pedaling kind) all were there. Had a band on the stage that was decent. Free tent camping there. Sorry for the loss. Have a good time and remember the good times. | ||

That would be a nice switch for our regular sunday ride to make it an overnight instead. Unfortunately I have Parent's day in Decorah saturday. We can tlak about it tuesday to see if anyone is intersted. | ||

I am open that weekend and I was looking for a ride. If things look good at the office, I may be able to go on Friday. Note - I believe I may have met your group during the last hone coming. I am the guy on the Black XT. We were supposed to meet for the ride to the race. I could not meet because I came down wit the flu and left in the morning. Than was a miserable ride home that morning. Hi Dana, I felt bad not meeting up with everybody, but it was not in the cards that morning. I saw you ride past me when I was leaving that morning. I thought about stopping by the shop before heading home but I felt lousy and did not want to expose anybody. Are you still working in Burr Ridge at the old IH building? My company is right across the street on Tower Drive. I read somewhere that you have a new bike. Have you been able to put many miles on it? As soon as work settles down this fall, I plan on going to a club meeting and joining. | ||

Oh don't feel bad Tim. I am sorry that you were sick. It was a nasty cold day that day so it was a good thing you went home. We thought that was you that we passed but them thought not since you weren't at Hals'. Yes I am still across the street. I rode it to Indy for the Moto GP but in the rain the temp ( cardboard) plate flew off and I didn't want to ride without one.Now I have it and plan to ride to work tomorrow and as much as possible. I love it. I haven't had a chance to post a picture of it, but I will. I hope you can come this weekend. If not our next meeting will be Oct. 1. | ||

I have not been able to ride in this week since I have the wheels off of the bike for new tires. Should have it back together Thursday. My plan at this point is to go on the ride Friday. What time is everybody leaving on Friday? I will most likely leave from my office. | ||
