Just let us know where to send it. Hang tight. As soon as the details are finalized a PayPal account will be listed as well as a mailing addy for paper checks. Keep adding to it until then!! |

I'm sure it is already thought of, but ensure that whatever is done does not mess up the laid off folk's unemployment benefits And it sounds like their Corporate did better for them than a previous employer did for me. Some people in this economy are having to wash their dental floss to save costs. |

I know its tough times, yet, to help out a few who have done something to make you smile more than a few times, seems a good thing to do this holiday season, reminding us in general about our brothers (and sisters) around us suffering similarly, making the holiday more personable, and bringing with it more personal meaning to the holidays. This is a wonderful gesture. I'll have to check and see what my budget can support, but I'd like to contribute even if it's only a small amount. |

EZ, good job, it is hard to offer any advice with limited information but whatever help you need let me know, my email is f_skinner@yahoo.com. Is there a way to separate by "level of need"? BTW did I miss the address to send money? |

Is there an employee's social group of some sort that could direct donations so they get properly distributed? |

"Is there a way to separate by 'level of need'?" Yes, the fact that they are layed off. |

Please hold off on a public discussion or any ancillary organizing until I have time to talk to some folks and outline the situation. |

Yes, the fact that they are layed off. I do not understand that remark. I know when I have been laid off it is sometimes bad and sometimes not depending on many other factors. Just trying to help. Please hold off on a public discussion Roger that I will stay out of it and let the duty experts take care of it. |

I guess my vaguely/poorly implied point is that trying to assess actual need would be a daunting task. I suppose those who don't really have a use for the food aid won't accept it? |

Being laid off during the holidays is never good. I'm sure a little help would go a long way in keeping their Holiday spirits up and making sure the holidays spirit is kept as well - for all of us. EZ |

I need to check the quick board more often because I just saw this thread. Once the paypal account is up and running you can count me in. Just a thought but has anyone considered a raffle for parts or maybe a sale on donated parts. I have a few parts I could donate in addition to giving the cash. I still think that IF they have an employee group, any donations would best be "filtered" through a group such as BERG... Buell Employee Recreation Group... (just made that up) We have a similar thing at work and they actually DO work to support families of employees in need (yeah, even though we are a pretty large company) - when one of ours got their head cut off by terrorists, they really stepped up and asked all of us for donations for a special fund. They have helped out with our Michoud LA folks after Katrina - all that sorta stuff. I'm betting that there MIGHT be an organized group already in place who can better decide the best places to put the money. |
