My mom just got me the Beatles rock band as an early Christmas present and this thing rocks! I never liked the guitar part and probably never will (which is ironic cause Lennon is my favorite) but the drums is the shizz!!! I GOT BLISTERS ON ME FINGERS!!!

Bought that for my wife, it is alot of fun! We got the limited edition with Paul's Bass, but its a righty, not a lefty, so that kinda throws the authenticity of it out the window... But Spiderman, your suppose to play the drums with the drum sticks, not your fingers! j/k |

Don't take this the wrong way, I like the Beatles. I play guitar hero with my kids, and it has been great, even gotten my boy into real guitar. We have been playing the Metallica version lately, and Kirk Hammet is a helluva guitar hero. When we play we focus on songs from Maiden, Slayer, Santana, ZZ Top, etc. They have guitar parts with plenty of 32nd notes, which makes it a tough game as the difficulty level goes up. We often play one note for every few real notes in the song. Now with the Beatles, whom I like, how the hell can the game get past medium difficulty? Do you have to play multiple notes for every note they play? It's pretty simple music, nobody in that band was especially good at thier instruments. Great song writers, will be fun on easy and medium, but how can it go past that in difficulty? I've been wondering this since it was announced. (Message edited by spatten1 on September 16, 2009) |

Lennon-McCartney were symbiotic and each needed the other. Post-Beatles Lennon was too raw and post-Beatles McCartney was too schmaltzy. Apart, they were both OK. Together, they were GREAT. |

Harrison's post-Beatles stuff was also pretty good. I've always wondered about how symbiotic the group was after finding out the White Album was recorded with little or no collaboration, with seperate studio visits from the different musicians so they would not have to talk to each other. One thing I believe for sure- After Bob Dylan introduced them to better living through modern chemistry their music got a helluva lot better. They went from Love Me Do and Let me Hold Your Hand to Here Comes the Sun and Lucy in the Sky w/ Diamonds. Big step forward. |

+1 about Harrison. I thought he was better as an individual performer than a member of the band. Ringo never achieved that kind of greatness although he is a great guy. I did not know that about the White Album but they still had to collaborate about what was included. The best part of the marketing of Beatles Rockband is that we are hearing a lot of Beatles on the radio. |

Most if not all of the White Album songs were written when they went to India to visit the Maharishi. They then worked out the finer details in the studio. During the sessions Ringo quit for a while and Paul played the drums on a few tracks. But they did work together all though I am sure it was tense... |
