88% of the U.S. population is not black. 90% of the black population votes democratic. Given that, I'd say that there were probably the correct percentage of black people represented in the protests. If, as a percentage, the "correct" percentage of conservative black people showed up, that would only be about 1.2% on average. So 98.8% all white is probably right on the money. The real question is why anyone would discount the protest based upon statistically appropriate representation of race? Are political protests now required to meet a quota in order to be relevant? |

Wouldn't you think there would have been a huge contingent of KKK or white supremacist groups at the rally as well? I mean, come on, THAT many white people afraid of a black president must have had something in common with those groups, right? Why WOULDN'T they have showed up? Could it be that the group that protested on Saturday would have reacted violently against such groups? |

Look back in time at the protests against Bush. The slogans, the signs, the tactics (booing in the Congress) are pretty much the same and the Democrats are saying the same things the Republicans said. To quote Pete Townshend, "the parting on the left is now the parting on the right." |

The good news is that the protests against Bush resulted in mid term losses in 2006 and the Presidential election in 2008. Let's hope history repeats. |

I think it will. Since I'm in a wonderful union (sarcasm intended) there are a lot of folks that voted Dem because the union told them to and now they really regret it. I have seen some bumper stickers come off the back of vehicles lately. |

Someone here wrote it was people-to-people for two miles on the Mall. Say Mall's five hundred feet wide and people are standing one every two square feet. 264,000 citizens. |

You know rednecks are fatter than normal people, so there couldn't have been more than one for every 4 square feet. |

Ferris von bueller, Thanks for sharing the photos! So, was there any fighting, finger biting or shootings? Just curious about how evil the counter protesters were. |

Math error: 2 Miles * 5280 feet/mile * 500 feetWide = 5,280,000 square feet. If you assume 2 feet per person, that's 2.7 Million people. |

So, was there any fighting, finger biting or shootings? A rally volunteer came up to us and asked us to get off the sidewalk and return to the street for our own safety because "unions" had a permit to protest on the sidewalks. However, I don't recall seeing any anti-protesters. I did see a crowd surrounding two women who were in a heated debate over the health care issue. I also picked up a free "dont tread on me flag" that was dropped by three black people who were being chased by a mob accusing them of being undercover ACORN attempting to profit from the sale of flags. I did find that funny. A street musician was called ACORN because it was surmised he was playing music to drown out the PA system. Oh, and a young man accused me and Pellis of being ACORN after Pellis told him to get off a car he was standing on that wasn't his own. Apparently, being called ACORN was the preferred insult of the rally. lol Also, I saw a CNN reporter get heckled. Surprisingly, I didn't see much press at all. Fox and CNN were the only two networks I recognized. The PA system sucked. Like the AMA races in NJ, it could have been better organized. Wish we could have been there. WOW. We did attend a Tea Party gathering here in our small town and there were maybe six to seven hundred people standing in the rain. Maybe the anointed one will hear us.....NOT I'm in the process of downloading HR3200 so I can read it. There is a section in there, page 51 Sec 153 WHISTLEBLOWER PROTECTION. It gives employees permission to turn in their employers if they feel they are doing something wrong and NOT GET FIRED for it. WHAT DOES THIS HAVE TO DO WITH HEALTHCARE What is this country coming to!!!! |

Heck, I don't think D.C. has seen that big a crowd of white people since the British visited in 1812! We dont target people based on color and economic/social standings and tell them they are screwed if we dont get power. We dont brag about how many different ethnic groups are in our clique like you guys do. The liberal politician and voter have been enormously successful in getting most black votes though. You guys should all celebrate that in the last 50 years most blacks depend on government less and less and can sustain such a high quality of life. If I had a wine glass I would toast you, pelosi and rest of the limousine liberals. |

Dang tofu eaters, cut your hair and get a job! In all honesty, those were some pretty funny/creative signs. Good to see the other side can get out and protest every once in a while, thought the lefty's had it on lock! Not like protesting does anything, ask Code Pink... |
