I don't know yet if road clearance would prevent knee dragging, but the tires definitely do. I've got a set of sticky michelins on the way with a street-only tread pattern. $80 for a set of tires shipped lol..
"60 hp with all those performance stickers!"
3.5HP.. it's still stock other than some cutting/sanding on the throttle cam to allow more throttle travel. The stickers are for more irony only and have nothing to do with the Zuma. Notice the American Sport Bike sticker you can see in the picture Those stickers are all from Buell parts.
This thing is an absolute hoot to ride around town on. Being designed for light offroad use, it has higher quality suspension components than I've seen on some scooters. It's perfectly safe to ride in 40mph zones. 45 zones are alright as long as I stay in the right lane and keep an eye out for drivers in a hurry.
You MUST install a performance variatior in that scoot PRONTO!!!
I finally broke down and dropped the $70 bucks for mine and it was worth way more than that in performance. throttle response off stops ins instant, it will wheelie now with little effort from slow roll. I can even beat cars across intersections
(Athena made mine, there are lots of them, just get one!!)
Athena variator on the way. $62 shipped from scootertronics
Pulled the rear signal stalks off a couple days ago.. Cut the reflector plates off of the bulb housings and moved the bulbs up to behind the extra lenses next to the tail light. It sure is fun modding and riding a 2 wheeler that's so small and lightweight. Full coverage insurance for $6/month.
Just have to find a go kart track willing to do scooter track days
