Buell did not offer any leather until at least 1999 and perhaps 2000. The part number will tell the story . . I', looking at the 1999 Internal Buell Apparel guide. There were 4 new items introduced and a page and a hal of carryover. No leather. | ||

I've got a blue and black one that I bought at Ray Price's back in '02. Upper 1/4 of the jacket and sleeves are blue and the rest is black. I've got a lot of shirts too going back to around 2000. Wore one last night and was thinking of how old it was already. Seems I've only had the bike two or three years. | ||

I believe I still have my receipt somewhere from the group buy at Buell on these jackets. Until that surfaces, the only thing I can do to narrow down when they became available is that we were in the new building when the jackets were ordered and received. So it is mid-1998 or after. Unfortunately when we ordered only the blue and black was available in the full leather as, of course, I would've preferred the red and black that came out a short time later. Is this something Buell that will be unanswered?? Surely you jest? 1313 | ||

I was wrong. I don't have the receipt. I have a copy of the completed warranty registration card:  So the date of February 5th 1999 would have been just as they first became available. I would have to call that a mid-year 1999 or early 2000 release if we're going to tie this to model years. Pretty cool to have the # 13 in the 'serial number' of the jacket, 1313 | ||
