We could be discussing the best ice cream in the country and someone would link it to politics. I like Blue Moon and Mint chocolate chip |

Some may feel solemn sorrow when reflecting on this day. I feel anger and outrage. When I see repeated here the lies and propaganda of our enemy, the very same enemy who perpetrated the attacks of 9/11, my anger and outrage defy diplomacy. There was no partisan attack intended; you misread, but I can see why, so I've edited accordingly. |

Bill, if Hex has really "backed down" he would've edited/deleted/removed his posts. If he couldn't figure out how to do that, he could've asked 1 of the custodians to do it for him. He didn't. Speaking for myself, I found it offensive & tried my best to refrain from commenting/acknowledging his statements. I question the sanity of anyone who believes those murdered on 9/11 "deserved" it in any way, shape or form. To be honest, I'd very likely react violently to someone who would state that in my presence. Sad to see it happen on a thread about 9/11. The thread was in the toilet from Hex's 1st post IMO. It was flushed into the sewer on his 2nd post IMO. Interacting w/ Blake on his forum as often as everyone does, is it any wonder he reacted the way he did? Thank you for reminding your class of the importance of today. I appreciate that. |

some of you feel anger and hurt, and that's ok but I feel a deep welling of pride I can still see the video footage in my mind of men and women of all races and nationality running straight into the face of danger so save lives of fellow Americans, climbing the stairs of a burning and collapsing building, there is nothing more moving than self sacrifice in the face of danger. here are some of my heroes.... show me yours? Thank you Phil. I appreciate your objective understanding. Am I the only one who feels anger and outrage about 9/11? The only healing I'm looking for is to heal this planet of al qaeda scum and their supporters and sympathizers. I mean "heal" in the same way that a body heals itself of an infection or a virus, it destroys it. |

I was watching live as the second plane hit. I still can't get that sick feeling out of the pit of my stomach. I get it to this day every time I see the video of that day. I was transfixed by those same images that day. I couldn't stop watching them. The horror was replaced by white hot anger. I hated the people who did this, who killed my countrymen. The cowardice. My hatred was replaced by resolve. Resolve to NEVER let these events move from my memory. No never let those responsible feel safe and secure again. No never let those who might consider repeating the events of 9/11 in their own inflicted hell contemplate it. That resolve remains to this day. Those who have lost that resolve have lost focus. Those who never developed that resolve have lost my respect. |

If you remember, there were those who felt the Cold War wasn't a "real" war and that the Soviets weren't really a threat. The same folks don't feel that there really is a "terrorist" threat. We can't even say "war on terror" any more. I honor the memory of those who died on 9/11 by working to stay vigilant against those who would add to their number of slain. Although I can't stand on that wall, I can make sure that those who do have what they need. Unfortunately, not all have that aim in mind: 'We're pinned down:' 4 U.S. Marines die in Afghan ambush |

You cannot ambush Marines, only validate our suspicions. Since this time 8 years ago, we have been hunting these cowards ever since. Here's to four more brothers gone. God Speed.

Somethings should never be forgiven. The intentional taking of innocent life comes immediately to mind. I was on a plane that day flying in to BWI and when we landed it was mass chaos. I was in the process of retiring, October 20th to be exact, and that day changed my whole life and my post-retirement plans. Hunt them down wherever they are and kill them. |

I can't even begin to tell you how much that day will never leave me. The emotions I felt the smoke carrying off the tip of the island the sense of utter helplesness Knowing my uncle worked there my friends were policemen and firemen in ny and nj I watched in horror and had a ringside seat. Now I can not watch it I don't like talking about it and I DON"T WANT TO REMEMBER IT, BUT I CAN NEVER FORGET EVER I don't know how to explain it but I'll try. I was going home from a Yankee game last season on the clipper (it's a boat ride around manhatten) and some people from Detriot said to me where were the twin towers so I showed them and I remember hearing them say what a horrible thing to happen but I actually felt a kind of anger because she made me remeber it. I then realised I was glad they thought it was a tragedy and felt the way they did but to them and alot of the country this was a TV event a story to most of us that live here it was so very real everyone I know lost someone they loved or knew or grew up with. As it turned out my uncle was fine never made it in that day and has never went back I might ad quit wall street altogether I lost some great friends that day though. I am 44 the people my age that live here also got to see them going up when we were kids I used to watch the lights at night as the facing was not yet on the second tower and how when they were done I was little and always wanted to know why one tower always looked bigger than the other tower depending on how you looked at it. Anyway I won't post it again or talk about it anymore. Thanks for reading GOD bless us all |

"Am I the only one who feels anger and outrage about 9/11?" As I look at the photos and watch the videos today in remembrance of 9/11 I am feeling all the emotions that I was feeling 8 years ago. The level of anger and outrage that I feel is probably a little stronger even after all these years because of the fact that we have not brought all those responsible to justice yet and because of all the liberal nut jobs who think it was all a conspiracy or we shouldn't be over seas killing those innocent alkida etc etc. It just pisses me off to no end when I see photos from the attack and then hear people say that we started the war or blame it on Bush or something idiotic. |

I had a meeting that week with a lady to talk about investments/personal planning. She was afraid and unsure about what the future held. Her entire company was in the WTC. Everyone she worked with. Everyone she reported to. They were all gone. I used to represent Oppenheimer Funds for my clients. The week before 9/11, I spoke with the same folks I always had. They were all gone. It's just weird to think that a person (or 3,000 persons) can suddenly be all gone. |

I've been mildly surprised about some of the media coverage and such about the 9-11-01 attacks. very little has been said about the people who died in a field in pennsylvania fighting back on flight 93 which caused the plane to crash. the people who died in the pentagon attack. I actually had to hear about those parts of the attack and remembrance on BBC America and NPR.. I realize 2800 people died in the world trade center, but what about the other people from the other attaccks Are they all ready being forgotten. is history already making it just a trade center attack and forgetting key elements?? i will give kudos yo president obama for at least remembering the pentagon victims (Message edited by tom_b on September 12, 2009) |

Great pic Court! It should only strengthen our collective resolve to let no transgression go unpunished. Some whack-job on talk radio was just saying "we must get past this by using dialog..." I kind of agree with that sentiment, but the dialog should not start until the actual transgressors, and their supporters, are fertilizer (each and every one of them too). Then we will begin a peaceful dialog. |

We didn't "dialogue" with the Japanese until after they had surrendered. We didn't "dialogue" with the Germans until they surrendered. Once they surrendered, we became their defenders. We protected them from those entities who wanted to take advantage of them in their weakened state. We are doing the same in Iraq. We are doing the same in Afghanistan. I'm willing to talk when they are willing to listen. |
