Umm... how can they shut down the parts distribution network... that makes no sense. Maybe just shutting down the "back half" of it, as nothing will be incoming for a while, but keeping the consumer facing half running? |

I too was laid off four years ago when The Bush administration let the housing industry go to hell in a handbag. For starters, the housing market was still booming 4 years ago. Second, Bush tried to fix the impending doom, but a Democratic congress blocked the move and chose to protect the policies set forth by Carter and strengthened by Clinton. I'm no Bush fan, but facts is facts. Now that that's off my chest, this surely is bad news - but better give some guys temporary leave now rather than try to keep them all working and just dig a deeper hole. I agree with Dbird - once Washington gets a grip and stops spending all of our money for us, we'll feel a little bit better about spending what we have. |

Please let's not politicize this thread. There are more than enough of those here on the Quick Board than I care to think about. I guess what would worry me, and I've seen it in the past, that a "temporary layoff" lasts a little, sometimes a lot, longer than originally stated. I hope for the 50 that are getting laid-off, that isn't the case. Wonder what division is getting benched? That, of course is a rhetorical question. I agree but Cyclondon injected his nonsense into the discussion and I'm glad Xl100R set him straight. |
