Well I just checked my insurance policy online, I couldn't remember what my deductible was. It's $1000, so I don't think I'll be telling Geico about this one and fix it myself in order of importance. Anyone got a right mirror assembly they wanna part with? |

Buells do crash well. I gotta a couple of my faults and a couple of "what the hell just hit mes?" Rode on each time. Good gear is a good thing to have and I found once I started riding on the track I slowed wayy down in the hills of Southeast Ohio. |

Nice work with the ATGATT Bads. I absolutely hate seeing people riding without gear. Makes my skin crawl. Glad there's not too much damage to either of you. Over here, they are trying to make it law to HAVE to replace your helmet every 3-4 years regardless of condition, due to deterioration and sun erosion. Costly but clever. Also to ride track days, you must wear 1 piece leathers. Nice collection Court. |

Racing organizations do that here with the "experation date" on helmets. Well, for those of you that have never crashed, lemme give ya tip-- don't go to sleep that night!! Yesterday my right pec was sore, after sleeping all night now my whole upper body hurts lol. |

welcome to the club. For me= once at Deal's Gap due to oil on the road, and 4 times on the race bike. Ain't fun, but you'll survive. Heal up quick. (Message edited by rocketsprink on September 07, 2009) |

Most helmet makers say 2 years max, then cycle'em out for fresh one. I've got a Quantum II that's ready for the retirement home. It hurts 'cause it was a 400+ dollar lid, but I gotta practice what I preach. |

this is right off the MSF website Most helmet manufacturers recommend replacing your helmet every two to four years. If you notice any signs of damage before then, replace it sooner. Why replace your helmet every few years if it doesn't appear damaged? Its protective qualities may deteriorate with time and wear. The chin strap may fray or loosen at its attaching points; the shell could be chipped or damaged. The best reason is that helmets keep improving. Chances are that the helmet you buy in a couple of years will be better – stronger, lighter, and more comfortable – than the one you own now. It might even cost less! |

hows the front end alignment? i've crashed my bike once and had the front tire get out of alignment with the steering head.. i''d thought that the forks got bent, but a buddy showed me that it was just that the forks shifted in the tripple tree. we loosened the lower tripple tree's grasp, and twisted it back to place, then retightened |

I'll check that out, but it seemed fine on the ride home from the crash. |
