Will be trying to get the site and database all nice and clean and streamlined, both for current operation and for future transfer to vBulletin forum. Thanks for your patience, especially the folks out West, in Europe and Down-Unda. |

Just figured I might pipe up for a bit. The CBR is saying I'm forbidden from viewing it. Been this way for a couple of weeks now. Is that for everyone or did I somehow manage to piss off all the other Colorado Buellers? |

Quick question, are we still going to be able to upload pics direct? One of the reasons I like this format, I don't need the extra messing about with photobucket or whoever. |

It gets cubed. Actually I believe thats one of the big things holding up the switch is keeping the current database. |

We'll still be able to upload pictures directly to the forum, yes. My goal is to move the entire forum over to vB. If that ends up being too difficult, I'll probably beat my head against it anyway and get it done. If not, the existing board will remain intact. John, you can be a moderator, just not on BadWeB. We don't even have moderators here. We're just custodians. We just try to keep the place tidy and run off those who are intent on polluting it. |

Wilson, No date in mind. It will likely be sometime this Winter during the long dark nights. |

Blake, that sounds like a hell of an undertaking with the migration. I do not know much about such matters but if you need grunt work done I would be happy to help. Frank |

VBulletin has a crude translator for Discus, but it only goes one level deep. We have some threads that are five levels deep or more, like in the Knowledge Vault (2nd level)- Engine (3rd level)- Big Mechanicals (4th level)- various threads (5th level). So the plan is to move everything to the 2nd level. I'll probably create some dummy main topics to facilitate that. Then we'll see if the discus translator from vB is worth anything. We will likely need to recode all image and attachment references and put all the files into one spot for the vB board. I don't think the attachment or uploaded image files are handled by the vB translator. That shouldn't be too tough a thing to handle, at least not for a competent PHP programmer. |

Frank, thanks for the offer, but this is something that will need to be a one man deal. That way only one man can be blamed. |

I think 1130cc.com uses VB, it seems pretty complicated, good luck to you guys on the move. Buellinachinashop, Unofficial Moderator, Official VRod Modaholic. |
