I've been wanting to get a good CCW. So I picked this up. Haven't even fired it yet, but I'll get that taken care of this weekend. The Springfield XD Sub-compact 40S&W caught my eye too, but a little rich for my blood right now. |

Buddy has a PT145. He loves it. I prefer my S&W 636 airweight revolver as my ccw. I just like wheel guns. |

I have a PT145 but it is a little thick for concealed carry in my opinion. My preference is my Colt New Agent. The trough sights take a little bit of getting used to but it is an awesome weapon. Accurate, reliable and comfortable to carry. |

I have the PT-145 Millennium and love it. I carry it all the time and yes, it is a little thick to conceal but I manage. |

I've got the XD subcompact... and I love it. In my work pants, it's 'pocket gun'. I recently got my CCW, but took a defensive handgun class too. It's one thing to shoot paper standing still, but even moving towards the target adds many variables. |

take a few days of Krav Maga and you will have a whole new confidence in your ability to defend. Agreed, but why stop at a few days? |

Just ordered a Taurus 709 Slim in SS. Looks to be a nice CCW piece. |

>>>take a few days of Krav Maga and you will have a whole new confidence in your ability to defend. My youngest just got some sort of high award in Krav Maga and said it was one of the toughest things he's ever done . . I've seen a bit but am not familiar with it. Sounds interesting. |

Agreed, but why stop at a few days? I wouldn't stop (and didn't until college classes took away my time slot for Krav) but a few day commitment is easy to get from somebody, after that they will probably be hooked My youngest just got some sort of high award in Krav Maga and said it was one of the toughest things he's ever done . . I've seen a bit but am not familiar with it. Sounds interesting. I am proficient in nearly 15 styles of martial arts. but Krav maga took me by surprise, it is in my opinion one of the most effective defensive systems I have ever encountered. I have not made it that far into the style yet due to scheduling conflicts but what I have seen and what I have experienced of Krav has been amazing} |

I started with IKMF a couple months ago. To bring this back to the original topic; creating distance in order to retrieve or draw a weapon has been frequently covered in class, including the use of training guns/knives. |
