devdawg, my dealer couldn't/wouldn't do anything on the camelpacks so proceded to call paul up at gainesville buell/h-d and once again without hesitation he said he would get a care pack out with some packs and some other things. had him throw in a few shirts also. he said he got it sent out this afternoon. stay safe and enjoy our appreciation for serving. Nevrenuf, Buellgator... You guys are awesome... Ulywife, You (and those who pitched in) have a special place in the hearts of more than a few Marines out here. We got your packages this morning...and I'm glad to say, they are both empty. You made quite a few Young Marines a little more comfortable...Thank You very much!!! Wolfridgerider, Got your package as well....loved it...PM sent. As I've been reporting we're just about ready to begin Operations....for Op Sec reasons I won't say when or where...but we're already hearing news networks spooling up about it. I will say this....I can't think of a better way to celebrate my upcoming birthday...(considering the circumstances of course) Thanks to all for your well wishes and care packages. We'll make you proud!!! (Message edited by devdawg on April 25, 2008) (Message edited by devdawg on April 25, 2008) |

your more than welcome devdawg, a small price to pay for a fellow badwebber. although i served in the navy during peacetime, things were already starting to take a crap in the middle east when i was over there not to mention africa too. when my year was up we had to fly out of karachi pakistan and fly thru terran iran, and just for that reason alone our flight was almost cancelled. 11 months later they took over the embasy there. when we flew in, no one was allowed to get off the plane who wasn't scheduled although we had a couple hr layover. one of the guys that was in my division on board the lasalle came down and told us how they were looking for anyone with jump experience to teach them how to jump out of the helicopter on board. and reason why, quote"just in case they have to go into an embasy" they knew there was trouble brewing well over a year in advance but didn't head the warnings. kristi, just let me know if/when you plan on sending another carepack. and thankyou very much for your time. you are truly good people. |

kristi, just let me know if/when you plan on sending another carepack Neil - I'll send another one as long as contributions come in. There is another thread "Back to the Sandbox" with two other deployed BadWebbers. I just sent a box to Cudajohn and waiting for Midnightrider to post up his address for a care package. thankyou very much for your time. you are truly good people. Back at ya and to the others who have contributed! I couldn't do this alone. Several BadWebbers have stepped up and PayPal'd $$ to make this possible. |

Rotorhead, Got the cookies...Thank the Troop for me. We've been busy with the Op going on in Southern Helmand. Everything is going...very well so far. As I said before considering the situation...I can't think of a better way to celebrate a birthday (28 Apr) then by kicking off our first offensive operation... |

UlyWife, I want to thank you on behalf of all the Seabees here in Foxtrot Detachment NAVCENT. The football is a huge boost to morale. I got it about two weeks ago but have been indisposed alot and it seems the desk I left the letter from your daughter and your card was cleaned off. Please PM me your addy so I can get a proper thank you to you. Also the chapstick is great. It was 110 today and it is helpful if it doesnt melt. Alot of the other guys are getting candy and sweets, junkfood and such but the real stuff like hand sanitizer, chapstick and footballs is much much better. I talked to my brother today. He just got into Kuwait. He's going forward soon. We had a write up in my hometown paper about the cousins and my bro and I. They got my rank wrong. http://www.news-star.com/localnews/x1804949653 I'm the middle photo. Sorry Devdog, I'm not trying to hi-jack. Just thought this is better than starting a whole new topic. Ready to fight, Ready to kill, Ready to die but never will! Hoorah! |

Cuda, No worries. I spent about six months in early 2003 at the NAVCENT base in MANAMA, Bahrain when I was with MARCENT...not a bad gig. Nevrenuf please pass to Paul...the box was much appreciated!!! Loved the shirts (in fact I'm wearing the OD green one as an undershirt right now), mags, camel backs and other items. Operation Azada Wosa ("stay free" in Pashtu) is going extremely well...we continue to hit the TB hard in southern Helmand. Here's a link our POA is maintaining for anyone interested in some pics & video of what we're doing. http://www.dvidshub.net/units/24MEU Thanks again for all your support!!! Semper Fi!!!! |
